Fiesta on the 5th: Cinco de Mayo Planner
Updated: May 05, 2009
Let's face it, most Angelenos equate Cinco de Mayo with margaritas, mariachis and mole--not the 1862 battle against the French army it commemorates. Our list is geared toward toasting from the Valley to Venice, but there are also mentions of authentic celebrations of Mexican culture thrown in for those of you who already knew that May 5th is not, in fact, Mexican Independence Day. (It's in September.) Ole!
