Everyone's favorite Echo Park strip mall Mex also happens to have one of the best fish tacos in town. Maybe it's the magic behind their house blend of seasonings, but the sauteed fish with salsa, tomatoes, onions, cilantro and crispy greens is definitely worth both the wait and the shady parking sitch.

Not Baha bound? This cheerful Los Feliz joint makes for a very appealing alternative. The fried fish chunks are delectable, and the salsas, cremas, limes and more at the serve-yourself bar are plentiful rather than the usual skimpy condiments found at most places. Bonus: The staff is so nice; it's kinda surprising. Portions are generous and prices are nearly as cheap as those South of the border.

Once you get past the name, as anyone who's actually dined at Harry Morton's Vegas import will tell you, the food is actually pretty good. So, down one of their massive margs and put your order in for the fish tacos. Fried tilapia with serrano-cilantro sauce, sour mayo, guacamole and pico de gallo is just as loud and flavorful as the festive atmosphere, and they deliver.

At $14 a pair, Silver Lake Boulevard's much-buzzed-about new restaurant serves up the most expensive tacos in town.
