    BEST HAIR REMOVAL: Wow! Wow! Wow! Those are really the only words that come out of my mouth after a visit to this new, uber-clean "sugaring" studio hidden in a Brentwood strip mall. I had never heard of body sugaring until a couple of months ago, but now that I have, I'm a devout follower and cannot stop evangelizing about it. I love Lina and her crew!

    BEST HAIRCUT: What can I say? Jose of Beverly Hills ... on Fairfax?! Love it. This guy is the real deal who just so happens to give a really good deal for those of us in L.A. who think having to fork over $100 for a fab haircut is a total rip. His price is right, he's an Elvis impersonator on the side and his assistant Renee gives the most invigorating shampoo massage ever!

    BEST MANICURE: This lovely parlor is tucked away in the Sunset complex next to one of my favorite lunch spots (Caffe Primo, I'm talking about you), making it perfect for a little pre- or post-prandial pampering. Mariko (she's a managing partner) will make you feel as though you're her best friend and manicurist Debbie even has her own eco-friendly polish line, Sheswai, available at the salon. Stop by on a Thursday night for "Happy Hour" when each service comes with a free glass of champagne!

    BEST GYM / PERSONAL TRAINER: Finally, a gym that doesn't function as a pick-up joint! Situated in a restored warehouse on a quiet stretch of Broadway, this clean and spacious (yet not too big) workout haven has everything you need to get in shape--top-notch equipment, plenty of music video flat screens to keep you moving, and owner John Damon, whose infectious (and sincere) enthusiasm is just what you need when getting your a** kicked. And that brick-walled boxing room in the back? It's just sexy.

    BEST WORKOUT: Okay, so your dreams of becoming an astronaut didn't exactly pan out. So what? You can still have an out-of-this-world experience (all the while getting your body into a less amorphous state) at this welcoming little space just across the lot from Brentwood Country Mart. Using a NASA-developed technique called "whole body vibration therapy" which activates pretty much every single muscle in your body, this is perhaps the most unusual (read: coolest) workout you'll ever have. Seriously, when you wanna shake things up, it doesn't get better than this.
