On July 14th, this popular brasserie will celebrate France's independence with a Bastille Day Menu ($45 per person). The special three-course meal includes heirloom tomato salad, halibut a la meuniere with crab, asparagus and black trumpet mushrooms, and cherry clafoutis with basil sorbet. Wine pairings can be added for an additional charge; cocktail specials include La Fete Nationale (cognac, lemon, egg white, Pernod wash, soda water) and Le Quatorze Juillet (cognac, calvados, green chartreuse and orange bitters).

On Sunday, July 11, Angelenos will celebrate the 9th annual Bastille Day LA Festival at the Monticello Old Lodge at Elysian Park. There will be a Provencal petanque tournament under the pine trees, Parisian waiters race, prizes for all races, singers, artists and other entertainers and, of course, plenty of French food and wine. The fun happens 12pm-9pm with a $5 entrance fee--children 13 and under are free.
