The chef makes the most amazing paella for two--every order made from scratch! Also, the tortelli with fig and brown butter at Wilson in Culver City will change your life. I just returned from a vacation in Paris and went straight from the airport to Tommy Stoilkovich and Mike Garrett?s new brasserie in Santa Monica, Anisette. It was as if we had never left Paris! And finally, my friends and I enjoy hanging out at Katana on Sunset. It is the quintessential L.A. experience. It?s always fun to order up some chicken hearts and gizzards to scare the foodies in the group, and I can?t leave without having the miso-baked cod--it?s like butter and by far the best in the city. Incredibly, Katana is one of the few places on Sunset to actually incorporate that amazingly sexy view of the city into the design ... Fantastic!"

Katsu-ya has a baked crab roll that literally melts in your mouth, and their spicy tuna on crispy rice with a slice of jalapeno on top is pure fire-in-the-belly goodness. Also, the Artisan Cheese Gallery is the perfect lunchtime spot--we dream about the grilled Italian veggie sandwich. Another on our list: Casa Vega. It's dark, moody, loud and crowded but worth the wait--best margaritas in the Valley. For a sweet treat, we love Beard Papa?s light and fluffy vanilla cream puffs or the cookie crunch puffs."
