On Thursday nights in the summer they have the most beautiful farmer's market. Definitely one of the most romantic restaurants with the most beautiful views.
Scenic views while enjoying dinner. Yamashiro is the perfect spot for a romantic date. In the summer they have a lovely farmers market every Thur with wine, food and a sunset view.
Decent food, great views and an eclectic group of customers. This is a tourist spot but if you haven't been, the view of LA is worth the trip.
Foodgasam aside, this place is ideal for weddings or anything to impress someone you want to bang.
This is a Hollywood classic, and a great date spot. The view is hands down one of the best in the city. They aren't pushing the straight up sushi - there's not even a sushi bar - but Chef Brock does fun flavors and textures with sashimi. Other hits: ribs, salt plate steak and dessert sushi.
If you're looking for a fantastic view and delicious food, this is absolutely a must do on a trip to LA. Chef Brock Kleweno takes his love of true Pan-Asian Fusion to extreme heights with an eclectic yet sophisticated menu. Be sure to try some of his more inspired dishes like the Spicy Yellowtail with Toasted Macadamia!
It was... nice.... – Nothing superb, just a nice little sushi restaurant in the hills. the view is spectacular and the architecture is classic (especially the central garden area). the service was great too. the food however was good, but not great. i didn't think the restaurant was too pricey (4 sushi, 1 appetizer, water = $50 w/tip. valet: $6). overall i'd go again just because it wasn't too pricey and the view of LA was priceless.
View okay -- Food dreadful – The Miso was like out of a packet. Salty... muddy... big chunks of tofu.
Sushi was not fresh.
What a Night!!!! – Wow I can't say enough about this place. The food was AMAZING!!! The new chef is innovative and creates a savory fusion of californian and asian cuisine. The view was to die for and the service was refreshingly attentive and caring. Honestly, I was surprised how much this restaurant contributed to my vacation. Definitely check this place out!!!!
User review by gpodell – This was a very disappointing dining experience. The atmosphere is great and the views are spectacular. The waitress was very nice as well. However, the food is awful. The sushi was mediocore. We started with a fried chicken appetizer that was just awful. I have had better dishes at burger king. Every thing is going for this place except for the food.
Not romantic – As a romantic restaurant this place seems highly overrated. We went on a saturday and found the place swarmed by groups of people much more interested in downing drinks than enjoying a romantic evening.
The clash between the two different sound systems playing modern jazz and pop/electronica did not help things.
The food was good, if overpriced, and they had a good selection of drinks and sake.
The view is of course very nice and the building is a piece of art it self.
Other evenings might be better, but dont go on a saturday expecting a romantic evening.
