I don't like the name of this restaurant but the food is truly good-great for a lunch, location is strange but come for the food.

Kitschy, Cool French hideaway

My girlfriend and I stopped in La Conversation on a whim for Sunday brunch, and we were both pleasantly surprised. We lucked out with an open table in the corner, as several others were still waiting on tables to open up. We had great service throughout, and there was a really nice local feel to the place, like everybody new everybody. It was just a really nice little comfortable place. Their pastries are incredible, and seem to be what people come for, but I had great pumpkin pancakes, and everything else looked pretty good as well. Definitely a cool little brunch or lunch hideaway.

La Conversation is a great place to go if you have all day to dedicate to breakfast.
The food is rich, the prices are average for the area, and the wait staff is slow but accommodating.
Be prepared to wait for a table and hunt for parking.

Weekend breakfast and brunch tends to be the busiest time--try a weekday visit if you're not willing to wait and hassle with parking.
The Extras:
The outdoor seating area is a prime spot for people (and traffic) watching on Doheny.
