This LA staple has been serving beautiful cakes since for over 20 years. The triple berry is the best. But note their service isnt the best, but the cakes makes up for it.

Ellen Degeneres, Jennifer Lopez, and Bruce Springsteen all had their wedding cakes made by Sweet Lady Jane. They make the most beautifully decorated, best tasting cakes. I love that they don't taste too rich or sweet; just make you want to have seconds. Try Dulce de Leche, Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake and Triple Berry Shortcake.

Great service, lovely pastries and cakes. Period.. Whew, after reading all these reviews, I went in prepared for abuse, but I must've hit them at a good time (or could it be, maybe they turned over a new leaf?). I had a lovely coffee and croissant (crunchy, tender and large!), took a seat and waited to see the attitude I keep reading about. Nothing. Nothing but smiles, kindness and patience from the two or three counter people, including an interaction with a particularly indecisive, whiny customer. Jane came out and talked to a customer, and I had the chance to tell her I love the place. Warm, friendly and delish all around. Folks, despite some of these nasty reviews, give it a try. I think they're great.

dont believe the hype.... waste of time and money. I dont even want to go into specific detail about what a bummer the whole experience has been. The staff acts as if a paying customer is a complete inconvenience. The quality is a joke compared to the price. Im just glad I know better than to ever want to step foot in this place again..... bottom line, ill find a quality bakery that will appreciate my business.

yummy but super snotty. OK, I love the desserts here. I order from them for gifts all the time. But their staff is just assy!

Honestly people, I know you make amazing stuff and all, but really? Does it really make you that unhappy?

Love the food, hate the 'tude.

The BEST bakery in Los Angeles. BET ON IT!. Negative reviews about this place only prove one thing:

A lot of STUPID people own computers.

The staff, the food, and the desserts are all excellent. I have had the pleasure of dining here a lot, and even had my wedding cake made here, and it is always excellent.

You have to try the Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake before you die.

Not worth the price. Went there today to try their Cakes, ordered a slice of Chocolate cake and a slice of Flan for my wife. Host rudely said $15 even. Thought to my self, this better be the best slice of Cake for $8, especially in this economy. How disappointed I was, will never ever go there again. I rather go to Porto's Bakery in Glendale. They are reasonably priced and you'll never be disappointed with the taste and price. Lady Jane is Not worth the money, may be to the folks around Melrose.

Awful service. I've made the mistake of coming here a couple of times, and each time I was appaled by the rudeness of the staff. Not so sweet, this lady Jane. They lack most common courtesy. I will NEVER come here again.

Desserts are to die for but their servers can go to hell. I'll keep this short and sweet - like their cakes and unlike their service which was 100% bitchy and ruined our anniversary. Friday 3.27.09 we went there after our anniversary dinner to "revisit" our wedding cake - the Triple Berry. The main waitress (the ugly dark haired one, not the cute blonde) said they were out so I opted for the Triple Sensation (not nearly as delish) and my better half opted for the Oreo Tiramisu (delish but very very rich). Ten minutes later as they were serving us, a cute couple sat down next to our table and ordered - you guessed it - the Triple Berry! My better half asked our waitress who harshly quacked, "humm, I guess we do have it". She didn't utter "Oh my, let me change that out for you" or even, "my bad, let me give you a slice to go" RATHER SHE ROLLED HER EYES AND WALKED AWAY! Then the cute couple next to us heard how rude our waitress was and asked us what happened. In soft voices we told them. A few minutes later the waitress said "you know what - you can leave" and she kicked us out. We are frequent, respectful, tasteful, and classy patrons who have never ever been treated this way (not even by Cynthia when she still ran Cynthia's on 3rd). Honestly - while the desserts are to die for, their servers can go to hell.

Great Counter worker people, great cakes. I just went there this morning to get a cake for a birthday party. I forgot to order in advance, but they had an awesome looking cake (it was chocolate with fudge and espresso). A girl named Debbie helped me. She was so helpful and cute and really knew all the kinds of cakes. At the party, every one freaked out over the cake. It was the best chocolate cake I've ever had. Thanks, Debbie!
