The Scene
Urth is all-natural inside and out: Blonde wood, feathery green papyrus plants and turbinado sugar say it all. Place your order in the madding crowd at the counter and then try to nab a spot on the terraced patio, where model-types balance their organic meals by puffing on Marlboros.
The Food
Munch on the signature salad made with spinach, pine nuts and feta. Sink into a creamy chicken curry panini, or savor the rich, tomatoey gazpacho. Whatever you choose, just make sure to save room for dessert. Baked from scratch with mostly organic ingredients including fresh juice, sweet cream butter and toasted nuts, they keep crowds coming back for more. Cloudlike berry cake, 18-Carrot Gold cake, deep-dish apple pie and classic New York cheesecake earn their reputations. Steer clear of the vegan chocolate cake, which has the consistency of Jell-O pudding mixed with kindergarten paste. Wash your selection down with astoundingly flavorful organic coffee or a perfectly foamy cappuccino, and head home happy.

Just wondering, if all you Urth Cafe Dwellers found out the owner of Urth Cafe was a steadfast supporter of George W and his policies as well as a backer of the IRAQ war would you think twice about spending your money there knowing it goes to support politicians like George W and his cronies. Well guess what. He is and hopefully knowing this will make your dining choices a little different in the future.

I would not waste my time at this restaurant. I am really picky about good food and price is not the factor when I write this review about the restaurant. Desserts are mediocre and the food is horrible. I say with experience of visiting 3 different times. Please save your money and eat somewhere else down the street. There are so many other good places to eat at in LA.
