Watch out for the thug with the neck tat. Last night I was there at an event for Raw Artist. I was super excited as many people I knew where there too except it was ruined by one person. I didn't get his name but it was some thug looking dude who apparently works there, he has a neck tattoo.

For some unknown reason, he kept trying to extort $50 for my friends and I. One of my friends was at his art booth and he was told he couldn't sit there unless he gave him $50. My friend had his RAW ARTIST ID/PIN on him. He came up to him twice.

When I was on the center area to photograph my friends fashion show case, the same thug came up and told me I had to pay him $50 to photograph there?

When my female photographer friend arrived she was going to join me to photograph the showcase, he said there was a weight limit! Seriously dude?

What the hell? I'm not coming back to this place again.

Back in the day.... Back in high school, I use to come to the strip to catch my favorite band, the Waking Hours, and of course they played the Key Club on a monthly basis, so the venue has a special place in my heart. However, the last time I went to the Key Club was four years ago, and that's only because Digital Underground was playing with Tone Loc and Coolio (no way I was passing that up). Generally, they don't have the bands and artists I'm interested in seeing, and I tend to see a lot of "club" nights there (strobe lights really aren't my thing). If you want good music, I suggest going next door to the Roxy or straight down Doheny to the Troubadour.

A great place to go to experience Hollywood.. I have been several times and it is always fun. The sound is good, the drinks are expensive. I actually saw the best act I have ever seen live at the Key Club when I went to a Nappy Roots show. A white rapper with a mohawk named Hunter Beard actually stole the show. I would recommend anyone who has not heard/seen this guy's music to do so. Overall a great time. This place epitomizes the "Hollywood" we all know and love.

Metal Skool!!. These guys are so funny and they rock! I wish I could come like every Monday! I like this place because it has that dark rock hall vibe. Good luck trying to get a table though! But it?s fun anyways. Drinks are a little pricey, but typical Sunset Strip!

Key Club is Badass!. The sound was great and I ended up seeing one of the best Hip-Hop artists I've ever seen there:Hunter Beard of The Definition. The vibe is great. And the stage is in a great place. If you have not seen Hunter Beard you should definitely watch him perform, he will be doing a show there soon with the Nappy Roots. I have nothing negative to say it was very fun.

Music that Rocks! Metal Skool! Upcoming AutoMatique!. I went a few weeks ago to check out Metal Skool..and THEY ROCKED! I'm heading out there this Monday to see Metal Skool AGAIN, AND to see an AWESOME local band that I first saw at the Viper Room a few weeks ago (how LA, I know!) :)

This little band AutoMatique -- i think they go on at 9pm...to think of them paired with such an EPIC band of Metal Skool is absolutly amazing...especially on the big stage at the Key Club.

With AutoMatique, you'll like their girl bassist - def setting them apart from all those boy rock bands out there.

See you on Monday for a true ROCK show.

Monday Night Metal Skool. By far the best show to visit if your in town on a Monday Night at the KeyClub. The crowd was great, service was fast and the acoustics were awesome. (Not to mention Metal Skool was amazing!) The KeyClub will be the place to take my friends when I want them to have an LA experience like no other!

Great club to see live music!. This club has the best sound on the strip! There is all kinds of music there. I have seen Gogol Bordello and Art Brut. So cool! But My friends have checked out Hip Hop, country and Metal Skool on Mondays is the coolest thing EVER!

get a drink then leave. I'm kind of indifferent about keyclub- last time we went there was some death metal band playing. This place is mostly standing room- ambience doesn't really do it for me either. Club hop this place- have a drink, look around, then bounce
