not my favorite – cool staff, but most of the shows dont interest me. metal skool is always fun on mondays. used to be at the roxy.
Broke? – Tuesday nites are free! new and up-and-coming bands perform and they are not that bad!
there are two floors, well the bottom is really just the restrooms and an area where the band is trying to sell their merch. drinks can be pricey so you might want to buy your own and drink before you go in...oh! its all ages on Tuesdays, too...but still got to be 21 and over to drink some booze.
Best live music on the strip – The Key Club is a great live music venue. Good drinks, awesome bands, great fun. Join the headbangers center-stage or hang out by the bar and watch the fun on the big-screen. Always a good time.
Best food+music combo on the strip – Surprisingly better than HOB, the food is DIVINE. Surprising for a music club. And the sound system is great, there are monitors everywhere - always a good view. And the videography and lights were fabu. I didn't even like the musical act and STILL had a great time because it was perfect all the way through.
KeyClub90069 – this is a great place with a great staff and great music. I really like it because it is right on Sunset.
good spot to catch up and coming bands – I find it to be the place to catch the best new bands in Hollywood. I love their Tuesday night showcase... it's free, all ages, and the talent is always good. Tuesdays steer more towards indie rock, but I saw a pop punk band play one night too. There's also lots of cheap places to park.
Good Music, Food and Drinks! – I have been to Key Club several times; each time I have gone was with a different group of people and to pretty much see a different genre of music. I have been impressed with the venue each time I have gone. The sound on the main floor is great and although the main floor is standing room only you can sit and have a great view of the show in the restaurant level. This, by the way, has really amazing food that is moderately priced. (The last time I went I had the seared ahi tuna with sautéed spinach ad mashed potatoes. It was heaven!) The drinks are reasonably priced and always very strong. I also really like the VIP room...it is great when the main level gets too crowded. In the downstairs VIP room you can sit and chat with friends while still enjoying live music.
HISTORY OF CLUB! – The Key Club was a hoity nightclub called Cafe Lamze in the 1930's... owned by Marcel Lamaze. Very popular with movie stars way back when...
Oh Joy! – This place is an absolute great place to watch a show! Even though the valet parking is poor. The doormen are real friendly however. The venue itself is very well organized. The concession stand is conveniently location downstairs next to the bathroom. Chairs and a sofa line the wall to the left of the stage. Perfect for groupies who could care less about the music and are awaiting the green light to go "hob knob" backstage. "No pun intended". The sound is really a mixed bag. One band will come on and sound stellar, the next will come up and sound like a garbled mango masticated by the gums of a moroccan marsupial! This venue caters to lesser known acts, so don't be surprised when you're rubbing elbows with the guitarist of the opening band, while the headliners strum and strut the night away!
Bitchy bartender, packed with UGLY ppl – The female bartenders had huge attitudes. The place was not that packed, it's just that most are ugly and just real losers. Not a place to be seen in. I'll never go again.
