reasonable price, just love place, favorite warm duck salad, great meal, outstanding service, great drink, best lamb chops
I keep coming back. I love the fun times I have here. The food is [almost] always good, the prices are reasonable. I've only had one poor entree out of the 8-10 times I've been here. Lunch is a great time to visit, but make a reservation for the evening. The people are friendly. I keep coming back and bringing friends.
Horrible service.. I've gone in to eat at the bar on three different occasions. Each time the bartender named Chris visited with his friends and ANNOYING boyfriend, rather than take care of his customers. It took me forever to get him to take my food order and I just gave up on ordering a second drink. The sad is that his 5 friends were not even ordering anything. They brought food in from another restaurant along with their Starbucks. It just didn't seem like a restaurant, it seemed like a frat party. I felt like I was a nuissance
Editorial Review. This quaint and casual Boys Town cafe is where men and their friends stop by for a little al fresco French fare.
Best Service, Reasonable Price, and Flexible Menu.
So many restaurants to choose from in West Hollywood, but if you want a little of everything this is the only one. I pick for a quiet dinner date; a brunch place with a group of friends; or even a solo Sunday morning breakfast.
The menu has many of your favorite staples, and the kitchen is flexible to suit your variations. The decor is not my style, but it fits with the name!
A Fine Way to Spend Your Afternoon!. I come into LA from Las Vegas, on business several times a year, and Cafe D'etoile has always been my afternoon refuge. Over the years, D'etoile has changed little (it's definitely a small space - very French), it remains a most convivial place to eat a excellent meal, have a great drink, and spend a fine afternoon's or evening's repast in genial conversation. For West Hollywood, this is as good as it get's for the boulevardier. One of the things that is so nice, is the wide mix of clientele that frequent the cafe, giving it a casual, yet exciting, feel. This is definately a place where the gentleman can enjoy the afternoon, before he goes on to the heavier duties of his evening.
Nice gay neighborhood restaurant. I've always liked the place because of the "gay" qualities. You can expect disco music to be playing and the clientel to be colorful. The hosts and waitstaff are always accomodating (the one bitchy guy left, thank god) and the food is better than most gay restaurants. And even though sometimes the food may be off, the feeling you have when you leave is that you were treated like family.
The perfect Gay Cafe. This place always has great food and nice crowd. It's the perfect size cafe. They have the best lamb chops and the warm duck salad is a favorite. They can make a better margarita than any Mexican restaurant.
Not as good as they use to be.. I have eaten here twice in the past three months and find the food just not that good. It is average at best. On my visit yesterday, the server became defensive when I pointed out how unripe the papaya was in my salad. He did however bring me replacement ripe papaya. He must hear complaints a lot, judging from his response. Food is too expensive for the quality.
Awsome!. Great food & drinks! Service is outstanding! Get the Prime Rib special. I thinks it's pretty standard on Friday nights!
Spectacular!!!!!. Any time I want a great meal I go to D'etoile. I have Never been dissappointed. Consistently Fabulous. On the lighter side the Green apple salad is to die for. If you are ready for a hearty meal the menu has lamb, steak and fish dishes, always perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. I just Love this place.
