((TAP TAP)) Wow if you love The best in Chinese food and the atmosphere of the Sunset strip this is the spot! You can dine outdoors or enjoy the indoor with a view, perfect for the weekend. Our hostess and servers were top notch, personable A+ their timing and presentation were spot on. The dinner menu is full of treats like potstickers, others you may even be surprised by. I sure was "Shrimp Toast"! Say what, shut the front door!!! OMG what a treat it's awesome. It comes with a delicious apricot sauce that was amazing, my night could have ended there and I would have been satisfied. But no,…

The restaurant's famous oversized (they're 5" by 7") fortune cookies, dipped in white or dark chocolate, can be prepared with personalized messages, from birthday wishes to marriage proposals. Order at least a few days in advance.
ambiance
50.0% positive
  1. The obviously "tired" "bitter"senior servers, remodeled unsemetrical, unpleasant, and tasteless decor, followed an obvious disrespect for Chinese culture makes this restaurant a joke to visit.
  2. nice atmosphere on sunset
dessert
100.0% positive
  1. For dessert, I highly recommend the chocolate-dipped fortune cookies -- you can also buy them by the bag.

  1. The service, I admit, was good, but not enough to make up for the food.
  2. I've been coming here for years & I almost always order the chinese chicken salad -- it's their signature dish (they'll let you know) and it's not surprising -- tons of chopped iceberg piled high w/chicken, almond slivers, crispy wontons & a fabulous dres
  3. The chicken is over cooked and the sauces are not tasty.
  4. They are really delecious and the garlice soy dipping sauce that they serve with the potstickers is also very good.
  5. The peanut noodles were dry and horrific.
  6. The food is good for what it is - American-Chinese Food.
  7. Some of their best dishes are : Minced Chicken in Lettuce Cups, and Tangerine Beef.
  8. the food is also nice.
  9. First off, you don't even get full size shrimp in the rice.
  10. The orange chicken was good, but there were very few actual chicken pieces.
  11. Chin Chin is a great chain since the food is consistantly good enough that you actually forget its a chain.
  12. Great chinese chicken salad
  13. The chicken just tasted weird, not right, and the pork fried rice smelled like it was smoldering, and tasted like charcole.
overall
100.0% positive
  1. it is a good place to have lunch or dinner with your friends and hang out.
service
37.5% positive
  1. Sometimes, while dining there, the service can be a little shoddy, but nothing bad enough to make me complain.
  2. Lots of people love them and I don't understand why.
  3. The sidewalk cafe is great for people-watching and the interior was recently updated, so it's much more sleek.
  4. The service is mediocre and similar to what you can find in any "hole in the wall" Chinese restaurant in Los Angeles.
  5. The service, I admit, was good, but not enough to make up for the food.
  6. The obviously "tired" "bitter"senior servers, remodeled unsemetrical, unpleasant, and tasteless decor, followed an obvious disrespect for Chinese culture makes this restaurant a joke to visit.
  7. However, poor service ANYWHERE is unacceptable in my book.
  8. The wait staff is extremely rude, the waitress actually rolled her eyes and sighed when we asked to sit outside.

Worst service ever

So I research this restaurant on the internet before heading out on vacation to West Hollywood/L.A. My girlfriend and I arrive at the restaurant and we were seated immediately. It took at least 20 minutes before anyone came and asked if we were ready to order. We finally ordered and we ordered the same meals and drinks. They brought us out the drinks and 5 to 10 minutes later they bought one plate of food and put it right in front of me. Then the waiter looked at my girlfriend and asked if she had ordered anything. Before she could even answer he said "um, ok", then he kinda tapped the table and walked off. Two drinks and one plate of food at the table is not a good look. Esecially when everyone else at the restaurant on the inside and and outside is enjoying their lovely evening, and we're the only African Americans in the place. And to think that I actually made it a point to try this restaurant while I was out there I never felt so offended in my life and that's the truth. In contreast our night turned out great after we ended up eating at El Compadre Mexican restaurant. We have lots of Mexican restaurants in the Bay Area and El Compadre honestly was one of the best I've ever tasted and the service there was top of the line, no kidding. If it wasn't for El Compadre, I would have ill feelings about dining in this area of L.A.

Incredible Service

Our service was great and the waiter was adorable. Ambiance was romantic and definitely recommended. For the music,,,I would recommend jazz or house and the people were cool. Portions were good.

Pretty much eeeh...

I've been to Chin Chin in Marina del Rey and enjoyed the meal, although I thought it was expensive. The Chin Chin Grill on Sunset in West Hollywood is always crowded, so I decided to get some food delivered at the office for lunch.

The food was ok. Not nearly worth the overinflated prices. I don't think I'll be going there again.
