Always tasty! – Chin Chin is a great chain since the food is consistantly good enough that you actually forget its a chain. The items are fresh and tasty with the right balance of flavor. The sampling mention that allows you to try 3 items as small plates is brillant, especially when you can't decide what to order since it's all delicious.
I've never been to the actual restaurant, we just had delivery and it was disgusting. We had the honey glazed spicy shrimp and there was an inch of uncooked batter on the outside of the shrimp. The food quality is terrible! Price does not match the quality of the food. I would rate it lower than chinese fast food. It was GROSS! The Beef/Broccoli was undercooked as well. Thinking about it now makes me naucious.
average at best – The food here is pretty standard fare, it's nothing special. It's kind of loud too.
nice atmosphere on sunset – the place is nice. the food is also nice. it is a good place to have lunch or dinner with your friends and hang out.
Food is OK – This was my second time at chin chin. I still am not impressed with their food. Lots of people love them and I don't understand why. I had their shrimp fried rice yesterday. I thought it was very mediocre. It wasn't disgusting but it wasn't great either. First off, you don't even get full size shrimp in the rice. Its chopped shrimp which is bogus. The shrimp fried rice at Kung Pao is much, much better. If you want good chinese go to wokcano....its my favorite spa. this place just doesn't do it for me. It may be because I am from the east coast and the chinese food their overall is much better so my standards are a little high. But to be honest, I wasn't expecting much and still was disappointed.
Great Oriental Chicken Salad – I loved their oriental chicken salad. It was a huge serving and the dressing was delicious. I sat indoors where it was nice and cool.
Potstickers are amazing – I have been going here for years and love their potstickers. They are really delecious and the garlice soy dipping sauce that they serve with the potstickers is also very good. The combination of the two is just amazing. At times i just go to have the potstickers. The rest of their menu is also good, but for me the potstickers stand out.
gone down hill – Have been going here for years. They recently went through a make-over and came up with a new menu (higher prices to match!).
The chinese chicken salad which is their signature, had very little "chicken" and the dressing was overpowering with soy sauce and too much ginger.
the kung pao shrimp had 6 medium size shrimp and was loaded with red peppers as a filler - a rip off at $13.95.
You even have to pay for a small bowl of white rice! - don't waste your money!
sub-par for asian food, crowded during weekday lunch – has the pad-thai, it was soggy. service was good though. it can get crowded sometimes during lunch.
Chin Chin isn't that bad! – I make my way to Chin Chin at least three times a month and I must say that it isnt that bad. Sometimes, while dining there, the service can be a little shoddy, but nothing bad enough to make me complain. I feel, you get what you pay for and when you dine in such a pretentious, illusory and conformist location such as Sunset Plaza, you in a way gotta expect such service from the people. However, poor service ANYWHERE is unacceptable in my book. Its been my experience that the carry-out service, which is in the rear of the restaurant, accessible by the Sunset Plaza parking lot, offers larger portions and the food has been much warmer. Chin Chin even delivers in the zip codes of 90046, 90069, 90035, 90036 and 90028. Overall, for the price we pay for Chin Chins food, the place just isnt that bad.
