good food, slow service, beautiful dinning experience, like mirabelle, fun decor, great everything, nice atmosphere
My standby place for west hollywood lunch.
The pros and cons say it all. The chopped salad is my favorite in the city- get it with the chicken, love it for the blue cheese and candied walnuts. When I am feeling particularly starving, I add in a side of hummus, almonds and pita. I rarely stray from these favorites. When a meal satisfies a craving again and again, it has to be quality.
The ambiance is a bit dark, but a pleasant respite from the hubbub of Sunset.
If you get the chopped salad to go, make sure to ask for a healthy sized portion, otherwise it is fit for a size 0 and really aren't we all Kings?
Surprisingly there is good selection for lunch with tasty soup. The price is affordable too.
Last saturday was my very first time eating in this restaurant. So thankful that my friends brought me there. Their foods for dinner is the best!
Come here for the cocktail lounge and order the Grasslands cocktail made with freshly pressed wheatgrass juice . Menu is American eclectic.
the worst Service and the blandest ever. I had dinner there tonight and felt like I should have gone some where else the service was lame and just not there we had to keep calling the server all the time and the food was just Bland and the seafood was not cooked right or even fresh sorry but it sucked
Good food, consistent service.
When I see one star on a review here I have to wonder if somebody hung a sign out on another place and claimed to be Mirabelle, or maybe they ate a bad Mirabelle plum and assumed it was from the restaurant. I did see the review about the bartender, and I am hopeful that management will look into it. If it's true, its an abheration of the excellent service that I am accostomed to at Mirabelle's.
The menu grows and changes over time, but I feel safe picking almost anything off the menu. Highly recommended
Not what it useto be. Read my review in chow hound. I hate to give one star but I feel like in this case it is really needed. I have been to this place well over a hundred times and fully enjoyed myself dining with friends and having lunch meetings. The service has always been the best and still is. With that said, I noticed the quality of the food has gone down, there's no thought to the dishes, it's just blah. I don't know what has changed. Did they get a new chef? A new manager? I'm not sure but what I am sure about is that restaurant basics were missing. No salt and pepper shakers at the table? It's not just my table but all the tables didn't have them. I had to ask the waiter-it's like having to ask for utensils or a napkin at a restaurant. I also noticed the lively vibe of the place missing. The dining room use to be busy and so did the bar but now it seems like the place is taking a dive. God I really hope not, I've met the owner before and he was really sweet with me and my friends- he sat us down and even got our order for drinks. Overall my last experience was embarassing becase I was with fellow foodies. If not for the attentive servers the whole experience would have been worse. I would encourage management to step it up, get a consultant and turn this classic back into what it use to be. Focus your menu a little more and don't raise your prices - this will be the kiss of death for a restaurant in this economy.
Transparent Bartender. I stopped in Mirabelle after work around 6:45pm. I know they have a late night happy hour until 8pm. I took a look at the Happy Hour menu and ordered the cucumber martini and a bite to eat. Before making the drink, the bartender asked if it was o.k. to ring another drink on my tab and run my card as she was taking off shortly. I must say, I was taken aback. How rude. I asked if the Happy Hour was ending anytime soon, and she said no, that Happy Hour runs til 8pm. Not only did she pull this stunt with me, but solicited stacking an additional drink onto every other patrons bill before she left. Incredibly gaudy; I can only imagine what it is like to work on a shift following hers. She is taking money out of the next bartender's shift, and destroying the suspension of service by trying to squeeze an extra buck out of her clientele. Transparent! Needless to say, I won't be back.
A Wonderful Experience.
My girlfriend and I stopped by Mirabelle's for a little discount happy hour drinking, with some eats to go along with it. While the prices were right, the thing that stood out the most was the exceptional service from our server John. Not only did he accomodate all our needs and wants, he was always checking out to make sure if we needed anything. While most server's can be overbearing, John was subtle in his attentiveness. Never intruding until the right time. Overall, one of the top 3 greatest servers I have ever had at any restaurant anywhere, and I eat out quite a bit. The food was also delectable. It was just a small sampling, seeing as how we were there for some happy hour deals. Those deals were very good. The chicken taco (spicy) was delicious, as well as the happy hour macaroni and cheese. We also had calamari, which was a bit tough, I've had much better in that regard, but overall, the food was very good.
I can't hype the service enough though. That was the joy of the experience. Simply wonderful. Well done John. Well done!!!!!!
