In Short
Specializing in the cream of '60s designer fashion, this is the place if you're looking for something special by topless swimsuit maven Rudi Gernreich or the young Yves Saint Laurent. Classic looks from Dior, Chanel and Gucci are also on hand. Plus there's a small but potent selection of period accessories, shoes and go-go boots, making PBP the prime destination for retro spy girls of all genders. They also carry menswear and furniture.

I was treated so horribly by this place when I was selling them a Valentino coat. They were all professional in the email correspondence, but when you get there in person, you're treated so terribly. Maybe if you were ready to drop 100,000 dollars will you get some sort of graciousness. And to top it all off, this place has been selling my beautiful aunt's (who passed away) clothing, using her name because she was an actress to make an extra profit. Makes me sick.
Pros: Beautiful clothes
Cons: Everything else

Unlike some of the reviewers I understand why the prices are sky high at the Paper Bag Princess. One reason is the merchandise is typically pretty great. She goes to poor old ladies' houses who once had money and nice things and takes them for all they're worth. The other reason is the owner is a very greedy Witch and wants to get every dollar out of every piece (worth it or not)! She is obviously mentally unbalanced, and values money over anything or anyone. She has no concept about how to treat employees or customers - there's some sort of disconnect. You see, she is both adopted AND Canadian. Additionally, she's an egomaniacle former (failed) model who has to deal with her fading looks and being "long in the tooth" on a daily basis. The only way she can make herself feel better is to belittle those around her. In conclusion, if you want a very expensive vintage designer piece, you can go to Paper Bag Princess or go elsewhere like Decades or Lilly et Cie. At each place you will find there are plenty of other greedy, rude, high end vintage and resale boutiques around with deranged and greedy management. This nut job is not the only game in town, but it's fun to go in there to spend $200 on $30 used shoes or a $25 handbag, and to see she is the worst of the lot. A real case study!!!
Pros: Wonderful merchandise
Cons: Freak show
