Editorial Review for Empty Vase Florist – by Stephanie L. Smith
In Short
Somewhere between Architectural Digest and Martha Stewart Living stands Empty Vase. There are orchids and lilies and cabbage roses in abundance, but no prefab arrangements. Staffers have style to spare and for the right price will cater to their clients' every whim. The most popular creations are generous bowls of tightly packed roses punctuated with hydrangeas and lemon leaves. The topiary is the other house specialty, ranging from $99 little piggies to a $7,000 30-foot dinosaur.

I had placed an order for my boss for a Mother's Day delivery a week in advance to be delivered the day BEFORE Mother's Day and it never made it. Even worse, I called the day before it was to be delivered to confirm their order and that they had the correct address, etc... AND also confirmed that it had been delivered the day after. They said "yes". Well, it never made it. I am the one who looks bad and is on the receiving end of this f*&k up and the constant sighs and hemming and hawing cus ya'll messed up and because I chose to use your services. What more could I have done to make this an easy order for you people??????? Make it and deliver it myself or use another company, probably. Thanks guys. Thanks a bunch. Nice way to start my Monday.

I ordered a lovely arrangement of tulips and orchids a couple of weeks in advance for my fiancee's birthday. the flowers were delivered on time, but they were wrong. red roses instead of orange tulips. I specifically asked for tulips because my fiancee is slightly allergic to roses. She called to thank me for the flowers, but asked why they were roses, knowing full well i wouldn't have requested them. I called Empty Vase back and after a bit of hassle, finally got the point across and they scheduled a replacement to be sent out and the roses picked up. Hours later the replacement flowers still hadn't arrived, so I called back. Apparently the REPLACEMENT flowers were sent with another arrangement for someone with the same name to a wrong address in Santa Monica (we are in Hollywood!). So I was told the replacements could not be delivered that day because of their error, and would have to wait until the morning. At this point I asked for a refund. I was called back shortly thereafter, but instead of promptly being given the refund, I had to explain the situation again, to a 4th person mind you, who then requested to call me back before issuing it. I was called back only to be told that the owner wanted the replacements to be sent instead of issuing the refund. This was a birthday gift, so obviously that was going to not be acceptable, so I said no, I'd like a refund, at which point they demanded that the original flowers sent needed to be picked up before they could issue it. So after all this trouble, not even a "we're sorry! keep the wrong flowers we sent you! very sorry!". They had to come TAKE THE NOW WILTING FLOWERS BACK BEFORE THEY'D ISSUE A REFUND! To top it off, it's been over 11 days and the refund still hasn't been issued. when I called today to inquire? The woman was "gone for the day" and her "voicemail is full" so I wasn't even able to leave her a message. All this hassle just to order some tulips for my fiancee's birthday?
