Completely renovated in 2008, this starkly stunning landmark on the Strip was originally launched in the late '90s by New York hotelier Ian Schrager and designed by French mastermind Philippe Starck. Today, the boutique retreat is where understated chic, 21st century comfort and postmodern wit converge. From the all-white, Space Odyssey-esque lobby and Alice in Wonderland-like lounge ADCB (now in eye-popping orange) to the dazzling Asia de Cuba restaurant and adjacent alfresco Skybar (which has amazingly managed to keep its exclusivity after all these years), the Mondrian is a must-see for…

Lovely Ambiance

Stayed here on a recent trip from London. Loved the boutique feeling and up to date ambiance. Got a good night's sleep, but who wants to sleep on a trip to LA?!
Inexpensive and nice, bad customer service
by citysearcher56 at Citysearch
I visited LA and stayed at this hotel for a week. The rooms were nice and the pool area was fabulous, however, customer service was awful!!
I asked for a fork one night to eat my leftovers and was led to the "breakfast room" where the attendant proceeded to open a drawer and state "in there somewhere". I had to dig around to find the fork.
We had to leave the hotel by 7:30 to walk to our office. Breakfast started at 7:30. When we asked if we could get anything at 7:25, the customer service rep said "no", as he ate a pastry that was served at the breakfast buffet.
I would reccomend this hotel on a tight budget, but otherwise not so much....
- Pros: Cheap for Sunset Strip
- Cons: Terrible Customer service
5 Star Hotel!!

I stayed at the Mondrian Hotel back in September for the weekend and had a great time during my stay!! I would choose this hotel for my next stay in Hollywood.
- Pros: Excellent Hotel
Favorite Hotel in LA

This hotel is the most fun hotel to stay in Los Angeles. While it may not be the nicest or the classiest it is in a league of its own. The pool is always packed with good looking people. The other great thing is that you are in the heart of Los Angeles--just a short cab ride away from everything.
- Pros: Location, Pool, Skybar, Asia De Cuba, Location
Incredibly Romantic
by TerryLady at Citysearch
We had the best time on the Sunset Strip whiling staying at the Mondrian. We had dinner at Katana across the street and then had drinks under the stars by the pool. So romantic! I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to experience a night on the town on the Sunset Strip.
- Pros: Romance
