My family away from home

by rosie731

I have been getting manicures since I was about 15 (now 44) and I have literally been to some of the best spas in the world. Paris, London, Italy and my FAVORITE is Jessica Nail Salon. Not only is the salon clean (has anyone been to Kim's Nails lately) but the staff is marvelous! Maria, Stephanie, Helen, Tanya...the list goes on and on of wonderful people that I look forward to seeing every time I go there, which is every two weeks.

I have NEVER had a bad experience there and I have turned many people on to this lovely spa.

For anyone that likes a truly wonderful, high-quality manicure/pedicure and is willing to spend $30/$32, this is your spa!

Hopefully you won't mind sitting next to Demi, Nancy Reagan, Jody Foster or any of the other dozens of celebs that call Jessica's their favorite salon too.

  • Pros: Ambience, friendly staff

Worst Manicure Experience Ever

by gooooozy

I decided to check out Jessica's Nail Clinic one day because I was short on time and it was really close to my house. I didn't have an appointment, and when I told the receptionist she was really snooty. After waiting fifteen minutes, I finally sat down in an uncomfortable chair in a busy room. The manicurist told me that I had really bad cuticles and weak nails, and that she would "see what she could do." The pedicurist refused to use my favorite Chanel nail polish that I always use and said that it was "bad quality." The closest color she had was an awul pinky-orange color, and she didn't even ask for my approval before putting it on. When it was time to pay, they told me that it would be $30 for the manicure and $32 for the pedicure, and then asked if I was paying with cash or check. I told them I only had a credit card, at which point I had to run to the nearest ATM a block away. My nails turned out okay, definitely not great. I will never go to Jessica's Nail Clinic again, no matter how close it is.

  • Pros: parking
  • Cons: don't accept credit cards, long wait, super expensive

i'd rather light money on fire.

$30 mani; $32 pedi. seriously obnoxious staff. no UV or other sterilizing facilites anywhere in sight. no drying capability and no invitation to wait a bit since i hadn't thought to bring open-toed shoes. they literally threw me out. business hours are completely useless for anyone who works. i was criticized for the length i prefer my nails. the woman who did my pedicure painted more of my toes than the nails. my mani-pedi was more of an arm-leg massage than the service i wanted; i'd prefer to make other arrangements for both my massages and my nail care. so should you.

  • Pros: parking
  • Cons: crazy expensive, attitude of staff, capability of staff
