In Short
Part of the small local chain of family-owned restaurants, El Pescador serves affordable Mexican food in a lively setting. Vibrantly colored balloons flank the booths, faux white lillies fill planters and Diego Rivera prints line the walls. Spanish tunes fill the air as families, groups and dining couples order popular dishes like the combination plates of enchiladas, tamales and tacos Americanos (hard shell topped with cheese, lettuce and tomato over choice of meat) and mariscos (Mexican seafood).

Good ol' fashioned greasy mexican food and kick ass margaritas beneath the dark glow of kitchy couch art only serve to make this the coolest mexican joint in the valley. Extra props for the late night hours that keep us night owls well fed.

I've visited the El Pescador chain of restaurants on numerous occasions. This location is clean, bright and airy with lots of balloons tied to the ends of the booths, lending a festive vibe. There's also a few plasma screens playing Spanish music videos and concerts (everyone from Selena to Los Tigres del Norte) atop the Spanish-style bar. If you're not a local, it's actually sort of kitschy. The service is very friendly and the food is decent. If you like shrimp, then definitely try the sopa de camaron (shrimp soup) as well as the tostada de camaron. And make sure to wash it down with a Jarritos soda (tamarindo flavor). During lunch local business folk fill the seats while evenings are when large groups and families come to enjoy traditional fare like enchiladas, carne asada and on weekends, menudo.
