Worst Customer Service Ever!

I live in San Diego, but we do not have a Chanel Boutique. I purchased several Chanel items abroad, but happened to be in the Los Angeles area and stopped in for some earrings. What a nightmare!

The staff was just standing around and no one offered to help. I agree with some of the other reviews and they are quite snobby at this store. However, I was wearing a Gucci outfit, Jimmy choo shoes and carrying a Gucci bag with quite a hefty diamond ring on. It doesn't matter the way you dress or who you are (well maybe Paris Hilton or JLo get better service)

The woman who finally helped me was barely paying attention, she then proceeded to take a phone call and simultaneously ring up my sale. Not only rude, but she gave me the wrong earrings! However, I did not open the box until I got home and now I'm going to have to take a drive back up to return them. Terrible!!

I will NEVER go to this location again and if I want something from Chanel, I will try the Costa Mesa store. However, after this incident I will most likely stick with stores that actually try to act nice when you are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars (Gucci, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Jimmy Choo...etc.)

Way to go Chanel on Rodeo... you've completed your daily task of driving away another customer. I know I'm not the first and I'm sure I won't be the last.

Remember the scene in "Pretty Woman" where the snobbish sales people wouldn't let Julia Robert's character shop in their Rodeo Drive store? We weren't scantily clad, wearing thigh-high boots, or doing anything that would belie our genteel Southern roots, but the end result was the same: haughty, disinterested, sales staff. But why? We were fairly well dressed, not to the nines, but acceptable LA casual chic. One of us carried an authentic Chanel bag, the other wore authentic Chanel sunglasses. We were particularly interested in the Les Esclusifs fragrances, which are sadly not available near our home. After we'd been looking for a few minutes, a Chanel staffer asked if we were seeking anything in particular, then, before we could answer, rushed away to help some obvious tourists select a Glossimer shade. (One of that group was actually testing the new Exceptionnel mascara on her own lashes directly from the display tube, unaware that there were disposable wands available to avoid contaminating the entire tester. Eeek.) After narrowing our fragrance choices down to two main contenders, we were ready to discuss a multiple purchase and shipping. But with whom? All visible staffers were standing near the bags counter, watching another customer fret over a decision between a white flap and a black bucket. After waiting almost fifteen minutes, we elected to leave, empty handed. On our way out, we admired a lovely sautoir with charms that was displayed atop the accessories counter. Our murmurs of "stunning" were met with a sharp "yes, it is" by a suddenly eagle-eyed staffer who rushed over, apparently intent on keeping us from snatching a trinket on our way out to Rodeo Drive. Despite the beautiful items in this glamorous store, we prefer to shop where the staff is friendly, helpful, and blissfully non-insulting. Our local Neiman Marcus and Saks may not have the full collection, but with the option of special orders, that's a chance we're more than willing to take.

Got better service from the doorman!

I love chanel. I really do. So when I went to the store in BH, I expected to have a chic, life-changing experience. The first time I went was to have a bag repaired. I was greeted very warmly by the doorman. The sales people took a while to assist me. I wanted to look around, but didn't b/c I felt very awkward b/c everyone was staring at me. The second time I came was even worse. It was on a Friday. The doorman was snooty this time but I didn't care too much this time. There were about 6 other people in the store that were getting all the attention. There were more salespeople than customers, yet it took 10 minutes for me even to get a glance- meanwhile I was looking all of them in their eyes for assistance. I looked briefly, around the store this time, and felt even more discerning looks on me. I guess this is to be expected at chanel in BH. I guess friendly isn't hip anymore. Definitely dress to impress-status symbols help
