Doesn't the staff realize that they're sales clerks? I could only imagine if Mademoiselle Chanel were alive today. And by the by, "Miss Magical" what is your job at the Chanel Boutique? I am very disappointed. M
worst experience – I bought a white purse last month and gave them $2800 cash. When I choose LV instead and returned the chanel purse next day, they would not give my money back and told me that they will send the check instead my mail in 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I called to follow up and they said that it takes 3 months to receive the check?????
Can you beleive this? This is highway robbery and I will NEVER GO TO THIS STORE OR ANY OTHER CHANEL STORE AGAIN,,,,,
Worst Customer Service Ever! – I live in San Diego, but we do not have a Chanel Boutique. I purchased several Chanel items abroad, but happened to be in the Los Angeles area and stopped in for some earrings. What a nightmare!
The staff was just standing around and no one offered to help. I agree with some of the other reviews and they are quite snobby at this store. However, I was wearing a Gucci outfit, Jimmy choo shoes and carrying a Gucci bag with quite a hefty diamond ring on. It doesn't matter the way you dress or who you are (well maybe Paris Hilton or JLo get better service)
The woman who finally helped me was barely paying attention, she then proceeded to take a phone call and simultaneously ring up my sale. Not only rude, but she gave me the wrong earrings! However, I did not open the box until I got home and now I'm going to have to take a drive back up to return them. Terrible!!
I will NEVER go to this location again and if I want something from Chanel, I will try the Costa Mesa store. However, after this incident I will most likely stick with stores that actually try to act nice when you are spending hundreds or thousands of dollars (Gucci, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom, Jimmy Choo...etc.)
Way to go Chanel on Rodeo... you've completed your daily task of driving away another customer. I know I'm not the first and I'm sure I won't be the last.
No, thank you – Remember the scene in "Pretty Woman" where the snobbish sales people wouldn't let Julia Robert's character shop in their Rodeo Drive store? We weren't scantily clad, wearing thigh-high boots, or doing anything that would belie our genteel Southern roots, but the end result was the same: haughty, disinterested, sales staff. But why? We were fairly well dressed, not to the nines, but acceptable LA casual chic. One of us carried an authentic Chanel bag, the other wore authentic Chanel sunglasses. We were particularly interested in the Les Esclusifs fragrances, which are sadly not available near our home. After we'd been looking for a few minutes, a Chanel staffer asked if we were seeking anything in particular, then, before we could answer, rushed away to help some obvious tourists select a Glossimer shade. (One of that group was actually testing the new Exceptionnel mascara on her own lashes directly from the display tube, unaware that there were disposable wands available to avoid contaminating the entire tester. Eeek.) After narrowing our fragrance choices down to two main contenders, we were ready to discuss a multiple purchase and shipping. But with whom? All visible staffers were standing near the bags counter, watching another customer fret over a decision between a white flap and a black bucket. After waiting almost fifteen minutes, we elected to leave, empty handed. On our way out, we admired a lovely sautoir with charms that was displayed atop the accessories counter. Our murmurs of "stunning" were met with a sharp "yes, it is" by a suddenly eagle-eyed staffer who rushed over, apparently intent on keeping us from snatching a trinket on our way out to Rodeo Drive. Despite the beautiful items in this glamorous store, we prefer to shop where the staff is friendly, helpful, and blissfully non-insulting. Our local Neiman Marcus and Saks may not have the full collection, but with the option of special orders, that's a chance we're more than willing to take.
Got better service from the doorman! – I love chanel. I really do. So when I went to the store in BH, I expected to have a chic, life-changing experience. The first time I went was to have a bag repaired. I was greeted very warmly by the doorman. The sales people took a while to assist me. I wanted to look around, but didn't b/c I felt very awkward b/c everyone was staring at me. The second time I came was even worse. It was on a Friday. The doorman was snooty this time but I didn't care too much this time. There were about 6 other people in the store that were getting all the attention. There were more salespeople than customers, yet it took 10 minutes for me even to get a glance- meanwhile I was looking all of them in their eyes for assistance. I looked briefly, around the store this time, and felt even more discerning looks on me. I guess this is to be expected at chanel in BH. I guess friendly isn't hip anymore. Definitely dress to impress-status symbols help
Coco's eternal style meets Beverly Hills hip in this Rodeo Drive staple. – In Short
Trends come and go (and you can always find 'em here) but Chanel remains faithful to its roots with tried-and-true basics like the quilted leather handbags, heavy cardigan tweed suits and chunky gold jewelry bearing those coveted interlocking Cs. On a budget? A classic bottle of Chanel No. 5--still one of the store's top sellers--is relatively inexpensive and never goes out of style.
Chanel Boutique was magical. Oh.....my.... God what a thrill!!!! – Look you are worth it! One little wallet or perhaps just a scarf? In my case I picked out the handbag and ballet flats of my dreams. The selection was amazing. In advance I had studied the Chanel 2006 fall collection and thought I knew what I wanted until I found the store had a wild selection of unique Chanel items. Not everything is plastered with the logo. You can find classy accessories with a subtle logo. And you will pleasantly surprised at the cost. I wore the sales associate out with questions and checking on color availability. She patiently wrote style numbers and pricing information down for me so I could think it over. There wasn't a moment I felt pressure to make a purchase. The staff was professional and ultra helpful. I left the store and returned the next day to make my purchase. It makes sense to get some space between you and that intoxicating rush you feel in the boutique.
My home state doesn't have a Chanel presence so I had my handbag and shoes shipped to me, saved paying tax and they shipped the items free.
I visited LV, Gucci, D&G, but I have to say....Chanel was magical.
BEAUTIFUL MERCHANDISE BAD Customer Service – As soon as I walked in ALL EYES ON ME. The people werent very nice. They were snotty and I felt as though they didnt want to help me w/ what I was looking for. I was ready to buy something but decided not to. When I went back a second time they were a bit nicer (but I think it was because was carryings bags of saks, tiffany's, and valentino) I bought something but as soon as came back the next day to return it the politeness was gone. The employees swear they own the store.
Chanel ROCKS! – From glossy rhinestone-encrusted aviator shades to sleek patent pumps, this place has it all. I was very impressed with the selection as well as the service here. I did not feel pressured to buy anything, and the sales staff was helpful. I ended up getting some shades that I have been very happy with. Go during the weekdays for optimum service and little to no toruists.
