More a confectionery than chocolatier, Edelweiss' chocolate truffles fall on the too-sugary side, but nut and cream confections satisfy the sweetest tooth. The gaudy Valentine's boxes trimmed with paper and lace are reminiscent of Woolworth's rather than Godiva, but the regular assortments of nuts, creams, chocolate-dipped fruits work better in a simple red box. Most elegant is the store's homemade chocolate box (small $24) filled with chocolate-covered cherries, juicy inside their dark, rich coats, or doused in liqueur.
