authentic italian food, flavorful daily specials, not great eh, very attentive service, good atmosphere, no bad price, like anchovies
Our go to local italian. While all the food is good, it's the starter bread that keeps me loyal. Do not go near on a low carb diet!
Great authentic Italian food - best Italian food in LA!. Every time I go there for lunch diner, with my girlfriend, or family or friends, not only I have great experience with the food, but the owner's good energy and humor are unmatchable - Thank you Pasquale for your great food and service :)
Italian Comfort Food. What a nice homestyle restaurant. It feels more like a friend's mother is cooking for you. The service was very attentive during my first visit, and the host Salvatore recognized me every time I returned. Try the pizza puttanesca if you like anchovies. The pastas are solid, so try the daily specials. If there is something really special that night, Salvatore will be the first to tell you. Osso Buco is good, not Madeo great, but you're not paying Madeo prices either. I've only given 5 stars to three Italian restaurants in LA - Giorgio's, Madeo and Peppone (Osteria Mozza and Toscana are very close - 4.8 stars). Da Pasquale is definitely a full 4 stars.
Good flavorful Italian Napolitana Food.
Food is tasty, family cooked by wife and husband, family owned; but wife is boss. Very Italian in culture and flavor. Good location, good atmosphere, and rhythm. The decor is appropriate and inviting.
The food portions are very, very small, the price does not match up at all. Parking is great, BH City Parking! Once the owners know you they take care of you like one of them... Worthwhile trying, not necessarily when you are really hungry.
Is it italian?? Not really. The pizza is as big as a coin!. I went there because of the reviews and I'm sorry, but they were completly wrong. I'm italian and in Italy the pizza is not so small! the price is no bad... but you eat the half and the service is really slow!!!
Small, lively eatery serves authentic Italian fare..
In Short
Studio execs and laid-back locals watch traffic through a wall of windows. This bright, loud trattoria is full of tables that can be pushed together to seat large parties. Known for Neapolitan-style pizzas, it also features panini sandwiches and starters like garlicky bruschetta al pomodoro and insalata di fagiolini composed of endive, tomatoes and green beans. Pastas range from simple lobster ravioli in tomato sauce to three-colored cheese tortellini with leeks and peas in pink sauce.
Eh- Not much to talk about. I am a concierge and I recommended this restaurant day after day because it was really close to my hotel, family owned, middle range Italian restaurant that no one ever came back and complained about. I decided to go there with my boyfriend, his brother and his mother for dinner one afternoon. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion: just enough lighting, just enough music, just enough elbow room. The waitress was nice, though hard to understand and it seems like most places in LA re-filling a dinners glass is an uncouth practice. For four grown adults they served us one tiny piece of bread, but we were ok with that because its a family owned Italian restaurant so the portions are going to be huge right? Wrong. The menu was very limited with appetizing entree options specified for certain days- no fail we all drooled over options available on nights other than the current one. The food was- eh not bad, but not great and we didnt care that the portions werent big because we didnt really care to have the food for lunch the next day. The experience was blah- no wonder no one ever talked bad about it. Theres not much to talk about.
Great Business Luncheon. Great selection of Italian pastas, pizzas and paninis. I especially like their daily specials which are fresh and flavorful and always contains at least 2 pasta dishes and great fish entrees.
