Worst facial ever! I purchased this facial from Groupon and assumed it was a reputable skin care facility given it's Rodeo Dr in Beverly Hills address but I should have read the yelp reviews first because it was more like a beauty school training room. Edna the facialist, seems untrained in every area.

The room was extremely small but that was the best part of my experience.

Edna talked loudly and too much but didn't talk about what she was doing to my face. She actually shocked me when she started the microdermabrasion without warning. It was the quickest and most painful microdermabrasion I've ever had and she only did a few areas on my face (thankfully given her horrible method). She ran the tool so fast across my face that it left red stripes here and there.

Dirty - She never changed the water when taking products off of my face so by the second time she wiped down my face, the water was cold and when I left I had grains all over. I don't know if the dirty water is a health code violation but it should be.

I was lying there for awhile at one point wondering what was happening (since she never explains the steps she's taking) so I opened my eyes and she was on her cell phone! This happened many times. The cell actually went off with a call once during the treatment.

She wanted to charge me extra for extractions which estheticians usually do as part of a facial so that didn't make sense. I declined.

It was unrelaxing ande she was extremely unprofessional. I left stressed out and didn't have that "just had a facial" glow. I left with a grainy, dry, stripped face so I went home and washed my face followed by a hydrating moisurizer. I honestly thought the facial would get better but it seriously kept getting worse.

Waste of money yes but it was more of a waste of time and energy. It's hard to believe that the owner of the Joseph Martin Salon hasn't read these reviews and taken action.

Alysia Knows Her Stuff. I just got the most perfect highlights I've ever had!! i'm brunette and i just wanted my hair to look naturally sun kissed, and she totally nailed it! It looks sooooooo gooooood! i can't get over it. Not to mention she's a total sweetheart and wasn't just coloring my hair, but she made sure I felt comfortable in every sense. Good conversation and great color! Love her!

Tamar is BEST!. I have lived in LA for nearly 15 years and hopped from salon to salon looking for someone who really knows what they're doing... I finally found it in Tamar. She is super cool, listens to whatever ideas you have, has suggestions of her own, is the most unbelievable colorist, gives you the best cut you've ever had and honestly does the greatest blow dry in town! And... she's always on time! I love, love, love this chick and have found the one for me!!

Chris Tanaka - Highly Recommend!. Go see Chris if you want the best of the best! He's everything you want: friendly, a good listener and incredibly knowledgeable about hair and color. I've referred him to friends, whether you're brunette, blond, or black haired, he has an eye for what looks good and has the skills and talent to make it a reality. Chris is a gem!

Chris Tanaka for my grey... I used to think hair color wasn't important for guys, especially for shorter hair, until I saw Chris years ago. I'm older, so I'm not looking for anything too "out there" beyond age appropriate. I'm a lawyer, so I have to look professional. I would have to say that Chris gave me back the my natural color that blended my grey, and I've been a loyal fan of his since he worked at Juan Juan. Never going back for that do-it-yourself Just for Men junk again.

Chris Tanaka - best colorist!. I would follow Chris Tanaka anywhere! I went through a period of not highlighting my hair before because my hair felt damaged, but since I started going to Chris my hair is healthier, shinier, and totally low maintenance. If you want natural looking hair, he's the guy to see!!

Chris Tanaka- colorist extraordinaire. Chris Tanaka is the best colorist I have ever dealt with, not only is he fast with foils, he has a knack of getting the right color and highlights for my skin tone. I get nothing but compliments anytime he touches my hair. I have been seeing him for at least 5 years now. I also like when I give him free reign and he changes my color for the season, subtle changes but profound. He is kind, thoughtful, a good listener and all around, a real nice person as well as a very gifted colorist. What more can a person ask for!!!!!!

Ask for Ian. Ian colors and cuts my hair. He mixes a color that is perfect for my skin tone and has so many shades in it, it looks completely natural and suited to me. He has worked with my hair over many months to gradually make changes (which is what I asked for) and he remembers exactly what he did each time. Great sense of color and skin tones.

Watching Ian cut hair is part of the fun. He works quickly but there is never a misstep ("Years of practice," he explained). He seems to cut every hair on your head individually at an angle to the head, checking lengths as he goes, so there is always texture and movement in the design of the style. He listened carefully, checked with me often, and designed a style uniquely to suit me. Although they have specialists there, I personally like having Ian do both the color and the style so they complement each other. I always get compliments.

It's the kind of cut and color you'd expect on Rodeo Dr. (I sometimes spot celebrities there, but Ian says the really big stars usually make special arrangements to come in after hours.) Everyone is very friendly and helpful. You really feel pampered in there, and feel and look great coming out.

Best Eyebrows. I live in Ny. and in my business I have access to the best makeup artists and I never write reviews ,but I have to say I had the best eyebrow wax by a girl named Marie at Joseph Martin salon the other day. When in LA I usually go to Anastasia, but let me tell you Marie does a way better job , and you don't have to wait for 2 hours. Funny enough, she used to work for her. My friend and I had a red carpet event and she had her makeup done by Marie later that day and she looked stunning. Natural, beautiful, cool makeup. Not heavy and dated like a lot of other makeup artists. So, if you live in L.A. you have to go to Marie. Oh, and she's super nice, too. No attitude.
