What People Are Saying About La Provence

This tiny cottage-like space has been one of the sweetest spots in Beverly Hills since first opening its doors in 1997. Owned by Farshid Hakim, a pastry chef who honed his skills at the Hotel de Paris, the cozy nook is where local families and traveling sweet tooths head for French classics like baked tarts, cupcakes, seasonal desserts and, of course, macaroons that change with the season. (Think pumpkin spice in autumn, egg nogg in winter and lavender in spring.) There's also a few savory options such as omelets for breakfast and sandwiches like the Croque Monsier for lunch.

The Extras:
Live on the Westside? Then check out the newer (and larger) sister location inside the Brentwood Gardens strip mall.
ambiance
100.0% positive
  1. The new location in Brentwood on San Vincente offers Intelligensia coffee, which is my favorite in LA.
dessert
100.0% positive
  1. The coffee is good and strong and the baked goods, including cup cakes and macaroons, rival any other's.
  2. There are many baked goods to choose from (even the non-fat chocolate muffin looked good) but my only complaint is the courtesy of the staff and the timeliness of their service.
  3. tried a wide array of the pastries here that the owner reccommend for me and I have to say they are probably some of the best desserts I have ever had.

  3. Otherwise, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for great coffee and breakfast/lunch-y type food.
  4. Counter staff was nice good clean simple breakfast items, french bread was nice and just what you expect to get in France, coffee was rich.
food quality
100.0% positive
  1. Everything else I've tried there, including the steak panini, turkey chili with bread and grilled veggie sandwich, have also been excellent.
  2. The quiche Lorraine is the best I've ever had; it's massive, and the crust is flaky and delicious, and the filling is eggy and light, not runny and heavy.
  3. All the soups are delicious.
  4. This little French Patisseries has delectable pastries and the menu includes many other French delicacies such as salads, sandwiched and a s.
  5. was impressed by the attentive staff and beautiful pastries.

  7. The goat cheese, asparagus and portabella mushroom omelette was the best omelette I have ever had, hands down.
  8. And, many of the breakfasts come with bread and an incredible raspberry jam - it's worth going just for the jam!

I love Cookies!!

by Natalia83

Caramel Lovers!! Most amazing macaroons with a caramel filled center. The cookie was good, but once I reached the middle and realized that the center was a ball of caramel and no other filling to dilute it I was lovin’ life! Plus La Provence Has a menu that is out of this world. Great place to meet for lunch and catch up with friends.

Best Cafe In Town

by LS8

This French Cafe is so delicious!! I love the macaroons and the red velvet cupcakes! Everything tastes wonderful and there is a big selection of pastry items to choose from. I love coming here for breakfast and enjoying a nice cup of coffee before heading to work, or even at lunch for a yummy sandwich and pastry!

I tried a wide array of the pastries here that the owner reccommend for me and I have to say they are probably some of the best desserts I have ever had. I tried the fruit tarts which were burst of freshness in your mouth. I also had the cupcakes which very moist and fresh. I am very impressed and will be back to try the lunch.

  • Pros: Great Desserts!
  • Cons: None
