This place is a joke (11707 sunset). So this place has pretty much been a problem since day 1. It all started the day I moved in. I packed my truck and headed over to the new apt and the manager calls me and says "sorry I had the listing price wrong instead of 1375/mo its 1395" naturally I had no choice but to accept seeing as I was already outside moving in. A month in I noticed that there were roaches throughout my kitchen and I kept seeing more and more of them. I later realized that when they were fixing up my place they never closed the giant hole in the wall under my kitchen. I got them to spray the unit once but it didnt do anything. I called and asked a second time, not only did I have to call and ask 10 times they wouldnt do it until I withheld my rent check. Sure enough when I did that they got on top of it. Now my biggest issue here is MAX, the landlord. Wow is this guy a joke. I told him before moving in that I would only move in if they gave me a specific spot. HE agreed since the spot was open. The reason I needed that spot was because my car wouldnt fit in the others and thats only because there is a lot of damage to my struts making it impossible to turn at that radius. At least once a week there is a car in my spot. I have to sit there call/text Max so he can have the people move out of my spot. This wastes 10 minutes of my time minimum! he tells me that spot needs to be open for his vendors (gardners,etc) and that it inconvenienced the trash man coming in and out. Really? inconvenience the gardeners and trash men? or the guy paying 1400 a month. This happened again, and I told him that I would start calling tow trucks since he clearly cant handle this simple task himself. He flipped out on me, telling me "I can move your spot whenever I want wherever I want and if you dont like it fix your car or park in the street" wow! what a tool this guy is. I am not paying 1400 a month to park in the street. So I called my attorney and he told me to chill out and call the owners (four corners) and that they would resolve it. Wrong. 5 emails 5 phone calls 0 returned emails and 0 returned calls. These people are disgusting, they dont know how to be professional, they dont know how to treat ther tenants. Half the bldng hates this guy. STAY AWAY
Great Manager at Club Brentwood. Club Brentwood is a great place to live. It's a terrific location, the building is well maintained, but the best thing about the place is Rick, the building manager. He's always on top of everything and if there's ever a concern, he takes care of it right away. He has a great personality and makes apartment living easy.
Great Place to Live. My fiance and I have been living here for just about three years and we have loved the experience. It is a very friendly building and great tenants. There are a lot of great restaurants with walking distance.
I moved into their Reeves Complex apartment expecting a nice, clean living environment. I got anything but.
Within weeks of moving in, it became evident that the owner refused to pay to replace the padding underneath the carpeting, so all sorts of gross stains/spots started coming up from below. Then, various pieces of plaster/drywall started cracking on the bathroom walls. And we found mold on the window sill in the bathroom. None of my requests to replace these things were ever heeded.
Since day one, I had been bugging the building manager to give me the names/phone numbers of the various utility companies that service the Beverly Hills area. He took his time. The power had been on since I moved in, but I figured that I could notify the power company of my move-in date retroactively. Too late, a week after living there, I got a call from "Joanne" in the corporate office who flat out accused me of trying to steal from their company. You just approved me with a 750+ credit score. I have no reason to steal $50 worth of power from your company, ma'am. Each time I spoke with someone from that office, with one main exception, they came across as nasty, arrogant or condescending. I'd rather deal with the worst staffer at the DMV than deal with the staff at Four Corners Investment Company. What an unhappy place to work.
Then the cool original manager left, and we got a man who might have been 87 years old. He had just gotten out of a 2 month long coma when they hired him. Not exactly the best move.This man was similarly nasty, mean and had about one tooth. He also had an odd penchant for southwest style art, Marlboro Reds and regular Budweiser.
For the next two years, there was a cavalcade of managers each with their own quirks. Most of whom were warm and friendly. Unfortunately, they wielded no control over repairs or refurbishments. Everything had to go through the crack squad of savvy motivated personal in the corporate office, or the owner, Matt.
The owner refused to refurbish anything in my apartment (the 1970s called - they'd like their kitchen back) and ignored my requests to fix a moldy window sill for months.
The final straw came when everybody in the building started to move out because of the dreadful living environment, dated appliances and ghetto looking common spaces. I was paying a small fortune in rent, yet apartments larger than mine were leasing for less. After notifying them of my plans to leave, they made to effort to lower my rent or to strike a deal, as most landlords would do.
I gave them thirty days notice, but moved out two days into the notice. I made it clear I'd be happy to pay for the remaining 28 days. So let's say I gave notice on the 10th, I should have paid from the 10th of that month, to the 10th of the following month. Alas, I got a bill for those thirty days, PLUS the remaining twenty of the following month. An "insufficient notice penalty." Completely illegal and dishonest. I called the office to notify them but was told since I'm no longer a tenant, they didn't wish to speak with me anymore. They can go to hell.
I would HIGHLY advise living elsewhere. If, for whatever reason, you are forced to move in there, make sure you become friends with the little old lady in the penthouse. She's a doll.
Avoid! Slumlords!!!. Reeves Court 333 S. Reeves Dr is the worst place I ever lived. Four Corners Investment Company is too cheap to get a decent manager or pay for cleaning and maintenance of the building, and they flat out lie in their ads and when you view and lease the place. (They're currently running an ad for a 1BR calling it a "condo" and saying it has 1.5 baths which is totally false!) The place is filthy, no routine cleaning of common areas except once a month when showing to potential tenants. There's always trash in the hallways and garage, cigarette butts in the pool. Giant roaches. Paper thin walls and ceilings so you can hear the neighbors yelling at each other. You get constant noise and dirt from the alley from 7am to 11pm. Calls for repairs are ignored by ineffective managers. Nasty old appliances. Apartments are filthy when you move in, and yet they charge an illegal “cleaning fee.” There's huge turnover. They'll tell you the previous tenant lived there for YEARS (7, 10, 13, etc) when in fact it was MONTHS. These people are slumlords! Do yourself a big favor and stay away!
Nightmare Apartment and Even Worse Management. This place is a nightmare and the management is worse. I hope you are lucky enough to do some research before living in one of their properties. I wish I would have. There is a permanent For Rent sign in the yard from constant turnover. The management never did anything to fix problems except to paint over it or blame me for the problems of an old, unmaintained apartment. The management does their best to intimidate, harass and threaten you at every turn when you request any repair. This is by far the worst place I've lived and the treatment of tenants is inexcusable.
Faulty management. I lived in one of their properties in Brentwood and enjoyed my time there until my apartment was flooded with sewage. They did not clean up the mess and left my furniture dirty. The manager was rude and unconcerned about my situation. My place smelt awful and the walls molded. Little did I know that the unit I lived in has been flooded many times prior! They are slow to fix problems and do not return phone calls promptly. I would not recommend living in there properties to anyone! I was homeless for a short time because of their faulty management!!!
A Terrible Rental Experience. I have lived in one of their buildings in Beverly Hills for a year, and it has been one problem after another. The unit itself is plagued with faulty plumbing, a shower that doesn't drain, and an ac unit that blows only warm air. However, what I find most troublesome is the manager's attitude when I have respectfully asked for his help in fixing the issues. He is rude, uncooperative, and acts bothered and put out. I have complained to 4 Corners several times, but to no avail, so I am searching for a new place this month.
