What People Are Saying About Staples Center

Smack dab in the heart of Downtown L.A. is the city's purple-glowing Staples Center. Opened in 1999, the venue is home to pro sports teams (Lakers, Clippers, Sparks, Kings, and Avengers) and stages major concerts by big-name music acts like Madonna, Justin Timberlake and yes, Miley Cyrus. Sure, the place is huge, but nearly every seat has a clear view, thanks in part to a steep vertical pitch. Luxury boxes, the exclusive Arena Club and the Humidor & Wine Room, cater to high-ranking execs and high-living sports enthusiasts.

Editor's Tips

Know Before You Go:
The Metro's Red and Blue lines both stop at Seventh and Figueroa (the Blue line also stops at Pico), so you can save yourself considerable traffic hassles and parking fees.
The Extras:
Fan paraphernalia of all sorts is available in the center's Team L.A. Store.
On the Menu:
If you prefer a more low-key sports-arena scene (hot dogs, soda, popcorn), there are numerous fast-food outlets and beverage stands housed on the main concourse area.
ambiance
75.0% positive
  1. Also, the parking is ridiculously expensive so try to find a cheaper lot a couple blocks away.
  2. The seats are forward enough so you still have a great view.
  3. It is a fun place to be, and does not contain any annoying fans with cow bells.
  4. The worst seats in the house, still offer a decent view.
  5. The parking can get really bad especially on a crazy game night.
  6. went here for a Lakers vs. Kings game and our seats were relatively close to the court, and we had a pretty good view.
  7. What an awesome arena; great sightlines, huge crowd feverpitch ambience.
  8. Howerver, parking and concessions could be pricey in this well built facility.
  9. The sound system is great, seats are comfortable.
  10. But its all good aslong as the view is nice and the action is packed full of it!
  11. great spot to relax and see a show and be with the family and have little to no fuss and have fun and family and
  12. The seats weren't the best in the house, yet still offered a clear view of the stage.
  13. The view is great from wherever you sit and the audio qulaity has nothing left to be desired.
  14. The view is great from every angle.
  15. The parking is just terrible though but on some of the side streets you can find 5-10 dollar parking but you might have to walk a bit.
  16. have gone to see concerts and games and shows and it doesn't matter where I sit, the view is always great.
  17. Other than the parking and food gauging, this is a good venue spot.
  18. sat outside on the balcony while I ate and it offers a great view of downtown LA.
drinks
100.0% positive
  1. Besides the entertaining aspect, it's just a beautiful venue, and before the game you can stop by LA Live to watch even MORE sports at the ESPN Zone or drink one of the hundreds of beers on tap at The Yardhouse.
  2. As with most arenas drinks/food are outrageously priced but we're so used to that who cares - the overall experience is just outstanding.
food quality

  1. As with most arenas drinks/food are outrageously priced but we're so used to that who cares - the overall experience is just outstanding.
  2. They always have a great venue and if your hungry there are plenty of food choices inside.
  3. There's fast food (hot dogs, popcorn, etc.), and a nice restaurant.
  4. full blown meal is around 30.
  5. The concessions food is a bit overpriced (but what sports arena isn't?)
  6. Other than the parking and food gauging, this is a good venue spot.
  7. Good seats, friendly ushers and a great selection of food.
  8. There is also a great variety of food - my only complaint is you have to walk around the whole stadium to figure out what all your options are.
  9. the food is kinda expensive inside but what do u expect, its a main attraction, although the chicken nachos are not that bad!
  10. would recommend any to visit staples for good seats, friendly ushers and a great selection of food which is pricey although somewhat reasonable considering the fact that you've came to see some of L.A. biggest stars even more when you come to see the La

Why???

by Lakotawolf at Citysearch

I'd like to write a review about Staples Center and their inability to

pick the appropriate venues for the people of Los Angeles. I've

written to the Venue Coordinator before, with no result. Ringling

Bros. and Barnum &Bailey Circus is coming to L.A. on July, 20, and

once again Staples has booked them. They do so knowing that

this organization has charges, over ten pages long, for abusing

baby elephants, as well as other animals used in the circus. These

animals are beaten with bullhooks, not feed or watered if they

won't perform, and forced to live in filthy conditions. STOP THE

Madness by boycotting Staples and Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, please!! You may find details cøncerning pending charges and past charges by going to PETA, ASPCAU, and WildlifeDefenders Please don't allow the abuse to continue, let Staples know that we don't want them booking venues that use animal acts. Thank you!!

My rating is a big fat ZERO, but I can't get this message published

unless I give them a rating!

THIS is LA!

by Oranges at Citysearch

This is an awesome facility. Whether you're there to watch your sports teams dominate their opponents or enjoying a concert it is a great atmosphere! Especially the Hockey Fans! :) There are plenty of parking spots all around, including a nearby underground parking structure at LA Live. Staples is just a walk away from great restaurants and hang outs if you're not done after your event!

We Are In LA, Aren't We?

by Kika Davis 2 at Citysearch

Where else can you watch the Lakers, Kings, Sparks and even my lowly Clippers play? If you are not a sports fan, do not fear, the Staples Center is also home to events for the family like Disney on Ice and KISS! Besides the entertaining aspect, it's just a beautiful venue, and before the game you can stop by LA Live to watch even MORE sports at the ESPN Zone or drink one of the hundreds of beers on tap at The Yardhouse. Good times to be had.

  • Pros: All seats are good seats
  • Cons: Parking is SO Expensive, ALWAYS !
