In Short – Built in 1926, the Central Library is the nerve center of the Los Angeles library system. Located in Downtown L.A., the original five-story building has since blossomed into a massive multi-level structure housing more than two million books (it's the country's third largest public library in terms of book and periodical holdings) and various cultural exhibits. Aside from the mind-boggling number of tomes, the numerous decorative and architectural features can be pored over for hours: Storybook character panel carvings in the children's court, colorful chandeliers and catalog…
By far the best.

Im glad to see this library recovered fully from the fire. The interior is contemporary and clean. Everything has been well laid out. You can find almost any book here, and if not, the librarians will be more than willing to assist you in either locating the book or finding one better than the one you were looking for. Take a ride in the elevator, youll find the old card catalogue system on your way up and down. Outside is a beautiful sitting area laid out in tiers. Youll also find that they offer many programs for kids, teens and adults alike.
- Pros: Find any book, Friendly Staff, Great Park Entrance
