Editorial Review for Richard Riordan Central Library – by Peter Geiberger

In Short
Built in 1926, the Central Library is the nerve center of Los Angeles's library system. The original five-story building has blossomed into a gigantic structure housing more than 2 million books and various cultural (pop and otherwise) exhibits. Renovated in a neo-mission style following a fire in 1986, it's become one of the hallmarks of the new Southern California architectural style.

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Im glad to see this library recovered fully from the fire. The interior is contemporary and clean. Everything has been well laid out. You can find almost any book here, and if not, the librarians will be more than willing to assist you in either locating the book or finding one better than the one you were looking for. Take a ride in the elevator, youll find the old card catalogue system on your way up and down. Outside is a beautiful sitting area laid out in tiers. Youll also find that they offer many programs for kids, teens and adults alike.

Pros: Find any book, Friendly Staff, Great Park Entrance
