Everybody loves Pink's. From lunching businessmen, penny-pinching families and site-seeing tourists to ravenous club kids at 3am and celebrities with a penchant for street food, folks never seem to have a problem waiting in the perpetual line that winds around this historic joint. (Back in the day, Orson Welles would stop by once a week and down a dozen chili-cheese dogs.) The Stretch chili-cheese dog is the stuff of legend at Pink's. A long and thin 100% beef Hoffy is snug in a lightly steamed bun, oozing with chili and topped with a slab of neon-orange cheese. But the menu has evolved since…

Editor's Tips

Parking:
There is a small free lot behind Pink's, but it can sometimes be difficult and time-consuming to get in and out.
The Extras:
Don't eat meat? No worries: Pink's offers turkey dogs as well as vegetarian hamburger patties.
ambiance
90.0% positive
  1. The is good, if you like Hot Dogs and the crowd in line in fun to watch.
  2. Honestly this is the worst hot dog Ive ever had, Costco dogs are better than these, even Target dogs are better, I dont know what people see in this place, the wait is too long, there is never any parking, and the food is gross, dont waste your time, you
  3. That said--Pink's is cheap, fun and tasty--no big whoop.
  4. The patio/parking lot in the back doesn't make for a great dining experience.
  5. Bring comfortable shoes, an optimistic attitude, and a hankering for cheap, juicy dogs.
  6. Continued great food, service and ambience.
  7. The experience of being in line with all the other eager customers was fun; ordering was fun, but tasting the hot dog was the worst.
  8. The place was very clean and offered a good, cheap, comfortable place for a light lunch - it was an LA landmark worthy of a stop.
  9. Between the drunkards and the wild car accident down the street that I missed by seconds from being involved in myself, I can say the atmosphere was, errr, interesting?
  10. You will wait so wear comfortable shoes.
drinks

  1. hadn't been to Pink's in years, but visited them again this past Saturday / Sunday morning at 2am to find the chili cheese dogs were still delicious, the lines still long, the crowd dressed for cubbing and recovering from a little too much to drink.
  2. The beer-battered onion rings were very good, but not much better than any other beer-battered onion rings.

  3. Great Hot Dogs with all the yummy toppings you could wish for.
  4. Decent food at a decent price!
  5. great polish hot dog, love the chili cheese fries, get there early, but its still worth the wait
  6. hours to navigate/endure/survive to the promised yummy culinary land of wieners.
  7. their chili fries are good too!
  8. The food is not bad but it's not the greatest.
  9. the hot dogs were huge and mountainous, topped with all kinds of toppings available (bacon, guacamole, sourcream, veggies, etc. etc.), but I felt like I was going to get a heart attack after eating one.
  10. Pink's offers the most generous portions of ANY hot dog stand, the dogs are so fresh.
  11. Chili cheese is very tasty.
  12. "Pink's" has the BEST burger i have ever tasted.
  13. love the different names they call them, like the Lord of the Rings dog (dog in 3 onion rings) and the Lakers dog (extra mustard or something).
  14. While the onion rings smelled absolutely delicious while we were waiting on the street, they ended up just being average in taste.
  15. Like at most LA landmarks, its about good food at a good price.
  16. The beer-battered onion rings were very good, but not much better than any other beer-battered onion rings.
  17. Used to good "dogs" coney island style, the skin was tough the sauce was like dried chili
  18. really like their season fries too.
  19. Onion rings are mediocre as are the fries.
  20. The bread was also dry.
  21. That said--Pink's is cheap, fun and tasty--no big whoop.
  22. The chili was thick and NASTY, the the onion rings were greasy and had an odd flavor, the pink lemonaid was bitter.
  23. Its such a long line because the food is good, and they cook it right in front of you.
  24. have heard the burritos are good but what would be the point when you can get a good burrito anywhere else in LA.
  25. Pink's hotdogs just don't beat the delicious dogs that I was raised on in New York.
  26. Overall food experience was great, they have different styles of dogs and a variety of burgers & sanwiches, I do recommend it.
  27. Honestly this is the worst hot dog Ive ever had, Costco dogs are better than these, even Target dogs are better, I dont know what people see in this place, the wait is too long, there is never any parking, and the food is gross, dont waste your time, you
  28. just had a polish sausage and a hamburger with cheese, bacon and chili, and my stomach is happy.
  29. Continued great food, service and ambience.
  30. There was always a line wrapping around Pinks any night of the week,, and the reason I've come to find out is this: stupid Americans with non existent food standards who follow the herd, even if it means waiting an hour for the worst hot dogs ever.
  31. The food was good but it was very costly.
  32. The food is very good.
  33. The lines are super long and will take about an hour or more to reach the front to order your food.
  34. you get that famous "snap" when you bite into it and it's soooo tasty.
  35. The best burgers and dogs in the world!
  36. wouldn't say Pinks has the best hot dogs, but it does have one helluva menu with just about any hot dog, burger, onion ring, french fry combination you can dream up.
  37. good food, mademy mouth water when lying my eyes on the food for the fist time.

  42. hadn't been to Pink's in years, but visited them again this past Saturday / Sunday morning at 2am to find the chili cheese dogs were still delicious, the lines still long, the crowd dressed for cubbing and recovering from a little too much to drink.
  43. Great food - only good people eat there.
  44. If your doctor gives you permission to have a damn good, cheap, greasy meal once in a while then this is the place to spend your voucher.
  45. Best onion rings and fries EVER!
  46. It ended up in the trash can along with the awful fries.
  47. and the food is a bit pricey for a HOT DOG!
  48. The bread was delicious.
  49. Im originally from Chicago, which has great food, and of course Vegas has great food, so I think I know my stuff.
  50. The food however, failed to deliver on its legacy of good food.
  51. The chili dog sauce was the worst I've ever tasted.
  52. And the onion rings are fantastic - reminded me of White Castle's, if you know them.
  53. would like to know why people stand in line for this horrible food.
  54. Seriously, the food is that bad.
  55. *The most fantastic onion rings I've ever had- perfect size and perfectly crunchy, not oily at all.
  56. The hot dogs are just not tasty.

  63. am a huge hot dog fanatic and have tried them all over and whenever I can see one on the menu no matter where I am but this dog really kicks my mouths a*s, I have had better chili before but this chili is still pretty damn good, I love the variety of do
  64. don't know about the regular hot dogs there, but the spicy polish dogs are fantastic!
  65. Best time to go is around 10:00 on a sunday and you can beat the gnarley lines and get some famous and mighty tasty food to eat, I mean anyone who's anyone has eaten there and it's not exaclty the Ivy but its BETTER
  66. Our order was, 2 chili dogs, 2 chili dogs with sauerkraut, 1- 12inch spicy dog (This was HUGE!)
  67. That aside, the food was terrific.
  68. Today the burgers may be more tasty than the dogs, but if you have the time, because there's always a line, and don't have too many cholesterol problems, this is the place to go.
  69. Great food and they're open late on weekends!
  70. have enjoyed hot dogs from all over the U.S. and realize that the hot dog is a fast food.
  71. So, the next time someone tells YOU to go to Pink's, claiming that it is such a great hotdog, and they have recently been there--just do one thing: DO NOT trust anything that person ever tells you about food again!

Pink's Hot Dogs is probably the most famous hot dog stand in Los Angeles! Located near the corner of Melrose and La Brea, Pink's can be found by looking for a crowd of people and following the aroma of fresh meaty chili and soft hot dog buns.

Pink's is unlike any other hot dog stand in America. For example, it has its own parking lot attendant. It has been in the same location for 62 years.
