What People Are Saying About L A Connection-Comedy Theatre

Citysearch
In Short – The comedy, not the decor, is the focus at this intimate theater. Brick walls, ragged carpeting and tightly packed seats create an informal atmosphere. The crowd usually consists of a mix of families and 20-something couples who are often called upon to participate in the improv, sketch and stand-up comedy shows. Serious comics with aspirations of improv greatness enroll in L.A. Connection classes; alumni include "Saturday Night Live" stars Will Ferrell and Chris Kattan.
Fun Fun Fun
by nannipie
went for the 8PM show which was really fun, very talented improv group, no apparently weak members. the group was very comfortable with each other and responsive to the crowd. love, love, loved the piano accompaniement, really added a sense of polish to the show. cast was friendly with audience after the shows. Also, they let us stay for later shows, which were also fun, though bigger crowds in the 7 and 8PM shows.
- Pros: intimate venue, easy location
- Cons: parking---check all posted restrictions, BYO....snacks,etc
Laughter abounds in Sherman Oaks - who knew?

If you like to laugh, go see improv at LA Connection on Saturday nights. I brought friends from San Francisco to see the 8 pm show & ended up staying for the 9 pm show as well. At 8 pm, we saw Temporary Insanity, an insanely funny troupe with high energy & quick wit. They also make great use of the musical stylings of Glenn Takakjian who plays a mean piano. The 9 o’clock show features 2001 Improv Comedy Odyssey, a solid group of seasoned improv performers who do impressions, accents & songs in delightful ways. They also make great use of the audience. Both these groups are worth seeing multiple times & I highly recommend a night out at LA Connection.
- Pros: Laughter
- Cons: Sherman Oaks
Why go to Hollywood?
by Mcsprinks
A group of us went to LA Connection to celebrate 3 birthdays. We had wanted to do something fun but not have to drive all the way to Hollywood to do it. We decided to try LA Connection as it got such good reviews on Citysearch. I am happy to say that all 12 of us laughed until our stomachs hurt. The improv group is soooo funny and their chemistry is really really good. 2 of the group were called up to be part of the skits.
We brought in our own drinks and snacks which was a great idea. Sooooo much fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!
