Editorial Review for Numbers Bar – by Dylan Wilcox
In Short
Numbers has been a West Hollywood staple for more than 20 years. It's now shelved above the Normandie Room, where it relocated in the late '90s from its original Sunset Boulevard location. Chic and tacky at the same time, the decor is defined by a black and gray tones, leather booths, mirrored walls and lush lighting. Visitors endure Muzak and Mariah while sipping martinis at the bar or feasting on a sirloin steak in the cozy dining area.

This is not a bad bar or restaurant, however it hasn't managed to shake it's 20 yr old history of being a place for "mature men" to find / pay for their company for the evening. I stopped by with a couple friends. We were chattin at our table and within an hours time 3 older gentlemen came by our table and basically propositioned us. Very uncomfortable. Its also a little bizarre, as any attractive, younger guys are standing in lines inside/outside the bar... I'm assuming putting themselves "on display" for any buyers! We watched a very attractive younger guy proceed with an older guy to his car (assumingly) only to return 15mins later. I think we can guess how THAT transaction went down! LOL
Cons: VERY Aggressive Older Men

I have heard about the reputation of this place so was a bit hestitant to go with some buddies but what a surprise. It was nothing like I imagined, it was very cool... the amtosphere was great. Excellent bar, amazing mix of music, interesting crowd. You could actually enjoy yourself and have a couple of rounds of cocktails for the price of just one down the street in those other places on the blvd. I heard that the owner is putting in a lounge area with couches, that will make it even more appealing can't wait. The only place in on Santa Monica Blvd where you can kick it all nite have great drinks and great conversations with your friends and people around you, very friendly....
Pros: Music, prices, Location
