Hollywood hotspot at a Sunset Strip hotel caters to the well-heeled elite as the dine, drink and schmooze poolside.

Horrible!!! Not worth the attitude!. So many other better places in L.A. where you don't get the attitude and disrespect.

We called and emailed (a ridiculous lengthy email that they requested) a week in advance for 7 people with bottle service (2 guys & 5 hot girls). They never called or emailed back. We went by the door and they wouldn't let us in even though the place was practically empty.

We are in the hospitality business and would never treat customers like that. We went down the street and got right in a great place and spent $800 on bottle service and had a great time. This place has no idea how to treat people, and even if you did get in, it's not worth it!

Attitudes! Expensive! Tons of better places!!!!

DON'T GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pretty/Pretentious. I?m a little torn with this place. It?s definitely beautiful and has great views, but I felt like the crowd was a little pretentious. The staff was nice enough and my drinks were delicious, though a little pricey!

Skybar. Like any other place in Hollywood, their drinks are way over priced. The the ambiance and the decor is just gorgeous! The outside setting has a great view because it's on a hill...you can see the lights of LA! Great place to go with friends!

Worst Experience Ever. Stupidest Excuse Ever For Throwing Someone Out!!!. My brother and his fiance came down to LA from Ohio for a weekend visit. They wanted to go to a nice Hollywood hot spot. I personally go to Hollywood every weekend with my friends. We have been to almost all of the hot spots in Hollywood. The reason I didn't say "Been to ALL hotspots" is because we have a few favorite spots that we usually go to every weekend, and so I?ve never been to Sky Bar. My other brother was there before and recommended for us to go there. We go there early, at around 8pm. We were just lounging around, conversating and looking at the beautiful views. We all were laughing, talking, taking pictures, just having a great time. Now I admit we were a little loud. Then at 11:30pm we ordered our FIRST, I repeat, OUR FIRST round of drinks. After the drinks my female cousin and I were walking down the stairs to go the restroom. As we were walking another Sky Bar patron accidentally bumped into me, causing my glasses to drop. My cousin bent down and picked up the glasses for me. As soon as she did that a SkyBar security came up to us and said "You guys are too intoxicated, and I would have to ask you to leave" I was like "WHAT? I only had one drink" and I explained what had just happened and his reply was, "I don?t give a F***, we have the right to kick anyone out" then he Violently grabbed me and my cousin and kicked us out of SkyBar. Then the manager came out to talk to us. She was even ruder than the security. She said that she was observing us the whole night and that we were intoxicated. I told her that if she did "OBSERVE" us the whole night then she should know how many drinks we had. WE HAD ONLY ONE!!! She then said "I saw your group with that African lady and you did look intoxicated" then I replied "Who the hell is African? Just because she's black she's automatically AFRICAN?? She?s American you A**hole" then she just shook her head and walked away. This was the most ridiculous place I?ve been to. If you're not white DONT GO THERE

Terrible experience.... My boyfriend and I do not typically go out to the strip for an evening out, for various reasons...however a Skybar employee recently offered us a $300 evening out on them, if we would trade for some cakes from the place we work. Our boss was cool and we happily obliged, giving them some very expensive cakes. We made the reservation for the two of us, on our anniversary. When we showed up, the woman in charge sat us down and then looked at the note on the gift card for about 15 seconds, clearly having no idea why we had this comped evening out. Then the first thing she suggested we try was one of their bottles of vodka...for $500. We politely said we were just there to try some champagne and needed some time to look over the menu. When our waitress showed up, what did she have but...a bottle of champagne costing $270. We hadn't even ordered anything yet. We very awkwardly told her that we didn't want the champagne and needed some time to choose something ourselves. The waitress was cool; obviously the woman who sat us was trying to get us to use up the gift card right away so we'd actually be paying customers...Now let me explain. We are not a cheap couple. We were not there to milk the gift card and get a load of free drinks and food. We would have happily paid for anything over $300. But the fact is that we had already paid for the gift card, not in money but in traded items, and we were just there to enjoy our anniversary, not to be pressured to use it all up in the first 3 minutes. Anyways the experience was just awkward and we left not too long after, using up only about $100 of the card (we were not offered the difference, nor did we ask) We were so disappointed and disgusted.

A great view, but ridiculous food and drink service ordering policies. Went with a group for a drink or two. Didn't have a problem getting in, the place wasn't very busy, weekday night. The drinks were good: but served in plastic due to the pool's proximity. That sort of took a little of the style out of it, but I understand about the issue with glass breakage. Then we sat and wanted to order some food. The waitress was just truly high on herself and wasn't at all inviting or even remotely kind. When asked whether we could just order a few orders of French fries, she requested money up front. I say, what? She explained that it's their policy because so many guests of the hotel fail to sign ordered items to their room bill. I thought, "what a lame, lame policy!" If we're going to sneak out on you without paying, then we have at least 100 yards to zig-zag through planters and doors before we arrive at the exit, not to mention a 15-step stairway that we have to walk down to get down from the bar to walk by the pool. So, indeed, we had to pay for the food before she even ordered it!!! This was quite a put off, and I thought I'd seen it all. I've been asked for a credit card before to open at tab at a table, but never have I had to pay before I get my order, not even in the best hotels in Europe, Las Vegas, or New York. The Sky Bar is, as far as I'm concerned, a "low point," in the geography that meanders along Sunset. And while I'm at it, the $8 per order french fries were not nearly as good as those you can get at McDonald's for one fourth (or greater fraction thereof) the cost! Save your money and keep your soul intact and find a bar where they have at least some modicum of trust in people who come in to attemp to enjoy a business' offerings. I suppose if I'd have been a movie star or famous writer/producer who was well known, I'd have been treated quited differently. Welcome to Hollywood!

upscale, swanky, expensive, but worth the view!. My husband and I were out for a double celebration; our first night living in LA and our 2 month wedding anniversary. We just sort of showed up to see what would happen...we approached from the inside where the 2 door men told us that entrance was for hotel guests only. So we walked around the front to where there were 4 bouncers, I was suprised to find there was no line or anything. My husband asked them if they had room for 2 more? The bouncer asked us if we had reservations, which we said we didn't...he then asked if we had anyone else coming. I assured him we didn't as "we are from Canada and don't know anyone here" and his reply was "I guess we have room for 2 more then EH?"..lol...picking on us being Canadian. But then we were in. We headed up to the upper bar and asked what it cost for a VIP booth (there were a few open)...the waitress gave some rediculous price so we just ordered a bottle of champage...once we did that she said we could "sit in the one booth until the people who reserved it showed up" LOL...so we did. They never showed up. We had one more bottle of champagne....they were supposed to be $175 a bottle....boy was I surprised when I saw my credit card bill the next day for $650!!! So, I still have to follow up on that one....I will update my review once I get to the bottom of that!

Otherwise the service was good, the view was amazing, it wasn't too crowded and us 2 nobody's got in with no problem.
