The Scene – While less formal than the owner's original Rex Ristorante, the mood is still decidedly chic and elegant. Guests are greeted warmly at the door as if they were old friends and shown to their tables in one of two dimly lit rooms. The windowed kitchen allows for chef gazing, but the waiter's commentary can be eclipsed by crowd volume. – – The Food – Adriatic chef Nicola Mastronardi attends to every detail on this classic Italian menu. Pastas are prepared al dente. The bucatini is made with a smoky, homemade, bacon-like guanciale and tomato sauce, while the…

Not only is the food amazing at Vincenti but so is John. Vincenti was just named number 7 in the "75 Best Restaurants in Los Angeles" issue of Los Angeles Magazine and Number 1 in the article ?The 20 Best Italian Restaurants in Los Angeles? written by Jonathan Gold for LA Weekly. There is no place like it outside of Italy. I have to completely disagree with the reviewer about John. I mentioned to a friend recently that John was working at Vincenti and his comment was ?having John run your dining room would be like having Picasso paint your living room?. We all love John, Maureen and the staff at Vincenti.

Warmest Reception and Best Italain Cuisine in Town
by italophilgal
Easily the best Italian restaurant in the city. Chef Nicola's menu is the most modern interpretation of classic Italian cuisine. His fish are all incredible. Don't skip the pasta or risotto...perfectly sauced, perfectly al dente. I've even seen Giorgio Baldi and other restaurateurs here on Mondays when their own places are closed. Maureen is warm and so hospitable, and honestly seems to care about her clients. Unlike the other poster, I find John at the door really gracious and professional, constantly looking to enhance the diner's experience. The rest of the staff is attentive without being stuffy. Pizza on Monday is the best in town...crisp, charred crust, thin and topped with great ingredients like burrata and zucchini flowers. Love eating at the bar. The bartenders are friendly and pour an amazing martini. Best bet for friends in town from Italy or New York. Never Disappoints!
- Pros: Amazing Pasta, Friendly Staff, Professional Service
- Cons: Noisy at Peak Hours
