Huge portions!!. I Loved it! I really had the best experience & loved the food! My new favorite restaurant!

THE CONS: watch how much you order to drink. .. They don't have a restroom. Isn't that ridiculous for a restaurant?? and the tap water is DISGUSTING! Parking is a headache...

THE PROS: the food is awesome! Great portions, flavors, friendly service, cool crowd... all good!

Good concept but bad delivery. Doughboys is an adorable place to have brunch with your friends, just not to actually eat at. It's so sad because we given it so many tries because it's cute in hopes of finding a good dish to eat but, alas, the food is no good. The ideas are great but then the execution is all wrong!

Completely overrated.. Whenever I go by Doughboys they are always packed. I can't imagine why. I have tried them on several occasions, wanting to give them the benefit of the doubt, but their food is simply inferior. Their salads are limp and not particularly fresh. Their sandwiches are made with gluey bread and inferior ingredients. Even their dessert bars are nothing special. Although their menu really sounds fantastic, know in advance that this is food prepared with no imagination or style and mediocre quality ingredients. For a much better experience try Mani's around the corner on Fairfax (and I am not a vegetarian, they just have better food).

Restrooms. If the Atallguyla was a frequent visitor to Doughboys he would know that the restroom is shared with the bar next door. You just have to go through the kitchen. Real frequent buddy.

And the secret is the chocolate cupcake is much better than the red velvet cake. try it.

No Restrooms!!!. Im a frequent visitor to Doughbys and as of 7/22/07 they have no restrooms available...And, the one sign they have stating this is posted inside the restaurant so if you eat outside you would NEVER know... I find this very disconcerting and when I asked the waiter why they were allowed to stay open without a public restroom, his answer was that the building was "grandfathered" in...

I will not go back there until this situation has been rectified.

Try the restaurant next door " The Little Door Next Door" . Good food and they have a restroom open to the public...

Great food for not much out of the walet. Watch out on sundays because the secret is out...there is a line out side. They bake their own bread so be sure to try a dish witha bread product. Their egg dishes are also very good.

Not even hangover food.... I decided to give Doughboys a second chance...what a MISTAKE! First off, the service is terrible. My drinks didn't come till after the food was delivered. But that is the least of their worries. When is someone going to tell the restaurant community that simply changing ingredients does not mask bad food. Take the lauded 'after school special'. What a joke! Putting emmantal cheese on soggy, stale bread is not 'updating a classic'. Eeww! The thought of it is making me sick. I won't even go into detail about the mac and cheese (DO NOT order this. No matter how good it sounds. Go to Trader Joes and get their frozen mac and cheese. Ten times better. Trust me) Bottom line: Save your money. Eat at home. Or at Joan's on Third (a few doors down). Unless you're craving Red Velvet cake. The Red Velvet cake is the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1.

Great French Onion Soup, Decent Salads, Yummy Dessert. I have been here several times with my boyfriend. He likes their breakfasts and is partial to the healthy pancakes that they serve...they are a bit too healthy tasting for me. I really like their french onion soup. It has a ton of delicious cheese and tastes the way I want french onion soup to taste. I order it without the bread in the soup. The salads are okay. They are nothing great, but I do like getting the soup and salad for a balanced meal. The lemon bars are tasty. We heard they have a great red velvet cake and have wanted to try it, but the last few times we wanted to eat there the line was way too long and we ate elsewhere. Overall it is a pretty good place to eat.

Good food, big portions. I found this place after researching for good french onion soups in L.A. since that's what my boyfriend loves. After some research, I found DoughBoys and although the last recent couple reviews were not that great, I decided to take a risk and try it. We went on a Tuesday night and there were a lot of people. We were seated in a very small table smushed between two tables that hardly allowed any space to walk through. The waitress looked tired but nonetheless nice (she even got one of our drinks wrong). But, after some time of deciding on a dish to order out of their huge menu, I decided on the Monster (in the Sandwich section) and my boyfriend got the Tuna Melt (one of their specials). The Tuna Melt was supposed to come with a Chicken Noodle Soup but they allowed him to replace it with his French Onion Soup for $2.50 more. When the food arrived, we knew that we would be taking most of it home as leftovers. The portions were enormous and completely worth the money spent and best of all, it tasted great. The French Onion Soup, according to my boyfriend, was made exactly as it should (he was not able to finish it though) and his Tuna Melt was smothered with cheese and fresh tuna. My Monster was something I have never seen - it was a big pita covered with layers of roast beef with cheese on the bottom and roasted mushrooms and onions on top with shredded spinach and tomatoes and horseradish on the side, which is great because I was able to leave the horseradish out since I hate it. The "sandwich" was so big that my leftover saved me lunch and dinner on the next day. We also ordered the Pecan Caramel Bar, which was disappointing because it had a hard texture, and the Red Velvet Cake, which is one of the best made velvet cakes I've ever had. The cream cheese frosting is delish and the cake itself was as moist as you can get a cake. Overall, I highly recommend this place.

Long wait, slow service, awful food. I have given this place two chances and have been disappointed both times. During my first visit, I ordered a sandwich and my date ordered a bowl of soup and salad as an entre. They served him about 5-10 minutes earlier than me, making it very awkward. It turned out that my order had been forgotten. That would have been no big deal, if the sandwich had been worth the wait. The bread was rubbery, though. I thought they were a bakery?

My trip there last night, however, took the cake. I went with a group of friends. First of all, they have no place to accommodate a group of more than four. Prepare to wait - long. Two of us ordered "chili." What we were given was a bowl of over spiced, canned tomatoes and macaroni. No exaggeration. My friend ordered a pulled pork sandwich that they claim right in their menu is the best you can get anywhere. If pulled pork that has no salt or flavor and is completely dried out, then served on a PITA - sure. They've got it down! Their version of bruschetta is also , let's say...creative. It's a few tomatoes, a great many kalamata olives, and virtually an entire jar of capers mixed in. Again, it's just a wild mess with no distinct flavor.

Do I recommend this place? No! Parking is too tough, the wait is too long, and the food is some of the worst I've ever been served. Just another attempt at a trendy restaurant where drawing in a crowd supersedes the quality of food you can get.
