best ahi tuna steak, great first class service, great good food, rude server, favorite restaurant, recommend place, very tasty side dishes
A high priced sports bar.
Sorry. You’ll have to decide if it’s what you want.
We thought that it was a fine dinning of some sort by the prices and description. We so wanted to feel relaxed and comfortable in that type of setting. Having read that a dress code existed, we dress accordingly, it did not seem to be put in operation on the night we went.
No way indeed ! A sports bar with flat screen televisions and the right cliental to match with loud voices.
Some people there looked like they had come directly from a building site with out changing. Some never heard of an Iron. We felt out of place.
Food good, service fine and valets polite. I personally can watch TV at home.
GREAT FOOD HORRIBLE CLIENTELE. I would like to start this office by stating I am not the type of person to throw out all the negatives and forget about the positives. Last night my wife and I had dinner at Ruth Chris’s Steakhouse in Beverly Hills, CA. The food was great, the service was excellent but the atmosphere was horrible! When we showed up there were a large group of African Americans dressed like rap stars smoking cigarettes and using extremely foul language in front of restaurant. Inside was worse! I don’t know what RCS did but I remember when this restaurant opened, and it was a very classy place. Now with the amount of trashy clientele that habitats the restaurant WE will not be coming back. I can understand lowering prices to meet what the economy will bare, but to lower your standards of the clientele and dress code would make even Ruth Chris roll in her grave. I was embarrassed to bring my girlfriend and felt I should have bucked up and spent the extra $50.00 and had the same meal (but without the rap show) at Maestro’s, Grille on the Alley or even Woflgang’s. At least they hold to a standard that Ruth Chris’s lost when the economy fell.
Very good fillet and excellent, unparalleled service, even when we complain about one of the entrees. I went to Ruth's Chris last night for a birthday dinner and was pleasantly surprised. First of all, I would like to have our waiter from Ruth's Chris, "Rafael," at every dinner I have for the rest of the my life! His service was not only personal, but patient and welcoming, too. Our martinis were perfect and LARGE, not the stingy, small, demi-martinis that you get in wimpy cocktail lounges. And the caesar salad was very good while the fillet was excellent. The fillet was not the most perfect fillet that I've ever had in my life, but it was far above average in taste and texture. The side dishes were good, but not outstandingly flavorful. But because the service was so over the top, it didn't matter. The one major issue was the fresh-frozen lobster tail. Unfortunately, the first one was chewy. The kitchen remade the order with a new tail and brought a nice one out that was unfortunately, also a bit chewy. The kitchen manager came out and talked to us about our reaction to the lobster, and he was completely understanding about our opinion. Although the dinner wasn't 100% perfect, the exemplary service offered by Raphael and the rest of the crew handily won us over. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ruth's Chris of Beverly Hills, and I look forward to going back.
Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides..
In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.
Not what we expected.
My husband and I made a rerservation for dinner at Ruth's Chris. We were called this morning to confirm, we said we would be there. When we arrived for our 7:15 p.m. seating we were told that they had no record of our name but they could seat us. The hostess first offered the 1st booth closest to the front door, I asked if they had anything else. She said they had one small table in the private dining area. We sat back there and might as well have been seated on the tarmac at L.A.X. Thank goodness our waiter was good. My ears are still ringing from the sound decible level in that horrible room.
On the way out I stopped by the front desk and told them that "Kathy" was the person who phoned us today to confirm, the hostess said they do have a Kathy and proceeded to look our name up again, she said "oh it says you cancelled". The manager was standing there and just said "oh....sorry", very unapologetic.
We will stick with Lawreys for future steak dinners out. We should have known better.
The best Steak I have ever had in my life!!!!!. I went to Beverly Hills Ruth's Chris on my birthday and had the time of my life. Ruth's Chris is the best steak I have ever had!!! And Im a serious steak lover so thats a major compliment coming from me. The whole experience was amazing. The server was so sweet and attentive. The drinks are great and you only need one to feel it!!! And my filet was cooked to perfection. Ruth's Chris has the best steak in LA, hands down!!!
Disappointed with the steak. I went to Ruth's in Santa Barbara and the service, atmosphere and side orders were excellent and the steak I ordered was a big letdown. The mediium rare porterhouse steak I ordered looked tough from the outside and was even tougher to chew on. Even one of the people who was sitting at my table said, "That steak looks tough." I can get a steak just as good for about 1/3 of the price. I hope I just got the wrong impresson of Ruth's. Porterhouse Bistro in Beverly Hills is so much better.
Best Restaurant experience in a long time. Went to the Pasadena location for my birthday in May 2007. From the time you enter, service is promt and everyone is polite. The restaurant is dim and romantic with great high back booths lining the walls and tables in the middle. Althought every table was full, it did not feel overcrowded or loud (Mastro's is extremly loud compared to this restaurant). Our waiter was wonderful and made some great recommendations, even bringing out wine samples to accompany our meal. I ordered the Kobe filet and it was amazing. Sides are generous and you can share them between 2-3 people. Martinis are delicious. For desert, my husband ordered their banana pie and i got creme brule. We both thought we had died and gone to heaven. Best steakhouse i've been to. Food is comparable to Mastro's, however, the atmosphere and experience is a thousand times better. Will go back again and again.
Just awesome!. I have been to Ruth's Chris Steak House on a few of occasions, and loved it every single time. I just love how the steaks come out sizzling on a hot plate. The steaks are very juicy and makes my mouth water everytime I think about it. This is how steaks should be done. I think that the price is fair for the quality that you are getting. The atmosphere is just wonderful and service is phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this if you are a steak lover. It is also a great date spot and for special occasions. Just make reservations before you go, otherwise you can end up waiting for a while on very busy days.
Still, the best steak in LA. I've eaten at most of the LA steakhouses, from Petrelli's to Mastro's and Taylor's to Morton's. I still think Ruth's Chris makes the best steak. I always order the Fillet Mignon, wherever I go. I suppose you could argue that everything tastes better when served in sizzling butter, but it's still the best! They could use a broader selection of side dishes, as you only get a piece of meat on a (very hot) empty plate. The service is very good, and the steaks are all cooked exactly to your liking. This restaurant is very well run.
