The odors of this excellent market mask the grunge of Hollywood.

Great farmer's market in the middle of Hollywood. All sorts of produce, artisan products and a whole alleyway of spices in EaCa Alley behind the Currywurst place, etc.

It doesn't take long to fill your shopping bags at this lively farmers market, where the bounty of fresh local citrus and avocados alone were enough to bring tears to this Pacific NW resident's eyes. The baby goats on display were fun too. Amazing people-watching!

Best sunday farmer's market in town. You can find the best produce here, but my favorite part is the vendors that shuck fresh oyster and break open sea urchin for you to eat for breakfast.

Great way to enjoy Sunday morning in LA. The vendors at this market are awesome. Great produce and large selection of prepared food with seating options to enjoy Sunday brunch at the market.

Great people watching - excellent selection. This is one of the better markets near Hollywood/West Hollywood. No where near as good as the ones in Northern California or the Santa Monica version, but the best alternative otherwise. The prepared food is just a tad above the street fair, but expensive; there's also limited places to sit and enjoy your food, so unless your hungry, something to avoid. The arts and crafts are also very street fair and generally pretty overpriced and limited at that. But you really go to a place like this for the produce, which is of very good quality, with friendly vendors.

You really need to walk around to get a feel for the selection and, as an example, you can find a basket of strawberries from one vendor at one price and find the same basket (i.e. non organic, just another conventional basket) at a sufficiently lower enough price. Besides, the best thing about the place is the people watching. Fun by yourself or with friends.

The flowers and plants can also be a good bargain, especially towards the last 30 minutes of the day.

Sunday morning foodie oasis offers fresh bread, live entertainment and organic edibles.. The Scene
All kinds of shoppers flock to this open air market, from celebrity chefs demanding organic basil to local shoppers seeking handmade candles. No matter who you are, wide aisles and handsome displays make it easy to find what you're looking for. Though crowds can get large, especially near closing time, a friendly atmosphere encourages chatting with vendors and fellow shoppers. Street performers also liven up the atmosphere.

The Goods
Pristine local produce, most of it organic and pesticide-free, draws a mix of serious home cooks, curious locals and health nuts. Most of the vendors grow or make their stock and are happy to help shoppers select perfectly ripened fruit and vegetables. Seasonal offerings include heirloom tomatoes, Meyer lemons, and gourmet peppers. Rain or shine, more unusual offerings include Mr. Bezjian's freshly baked artisanal breads, exotic fruit juices and fresh-from-the-sea mussels and clams.

Best Atmosphere. I love the farmers market in Hollywood. Varied and fun - because of its great community and busy atmosphere, it has lots of vendors to select food from for breakfast or an early lunch and veggies and fruits to buy for the week. There's also easy parking. Many of the vendors are happy to tell you about their products. My favorite to buy there is the flowers and herbs to plant at home - they are inexpensive to buy at the market. I would highly recommend going to the market at least once.

Not 3rd & Fairfax. "Martyandbern" seems to have a sour attitude about everything he (she?) reviews. The HOLLYWOOD Farmer's Market isn't anywhere near The Grove or 3rd & Fairfax, but on Ivar Street in Hollywood. And it's a wonderful Market, full of fresh produce and homemade crafts and food items. Definitely worth a visit.

Variety with Good Prices. We were impressed with the variety, quality, and prices of the produce, bread, meat, seafood, and other products at the Hollywood Farmers Market. It's FAR CHEAPER and much more extensive than ANY Farmers Market you'll find in San Francisco and the Bay Area!!

Plenty of variety here. Farmers Market is not only a historic dig yet a varied one at that. From Cajun to Greek, high quality Fruits and Veggies to delicious home made fudge and other sweet goodies, you can find plenty to please the pallet. A friendly atmosphere of vendors, out of towners and locals make this a pleasant place to eat, shop, people watch and hang your hat for a while. Not to mention the new section they added with movie theaters, higher end shops and a Disney-esq cobble street to stroll off your belly full of good food. And yea, most everytime I go there I see a familiar celebrity face. So enjoy yourself and drink in a mix of nostalgia with the new. Alone, with a date or a group of friends, Farmers Market is a relaxed must stop. fc
