DO NOT GO TO DR. SKIBA
by keepingthemhonest74 at Citysearch
he must be the worst doctor I have ever experienced. not only is he completely inept; but he also, is egregiously careless and irresponsible with his patients. Take it from me, DO NOT EVER put your health and your life in his hands. He doesn't return calls, and will only ever attend to your urgent needs once you pass through his doors and pay him bucko bucks for his 5 minutes.
STAY AWAY!!!
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: UNRESPONSIVE, ONLY CARES ABOUT $$$$$

I was forced to leave my doctor I was seeing for the last 16 years. One of the greatest Dr. I had Dr. Thomas Magee. My Chiropractor told me about Dr. Anthony Scarsella, made an appt. and say him early 2009, I liked him, he listens to my questions and answers them to my satisfaction. In general he is a great great doctor. BUT !!!! there is a problem at this office:
I was NEVER able to talk to my doctor on the phone EVER not even once for a quick question.
WAIT !!!! his staff is M E D I O C R E the worst I have ever encountered anywhere probably worldwide. My insurance can enver get a hold of my Dr. because the nurses and the office staff never deliver the messages. A simple prescription took two and a half months for my insurance to fill it and mail it to me because they were UNABLE to reach the doctor for dozage verification. The staff never advised the doctor that my insurance were calling for verification.
I need a new Doctor's office can anyone help?
thx
- Pros: office/clinic MEDIOCRE STAFF
- Cons: any suggestions please help me find a good DR.

I needed to find a new Dr. as mine had retired and I asked a couple of people and heard that Pacific Oaks Medical group had a wonderful medical staff. I made an appointment for a flu shot. Mind you I could go to
Target or CVS for a shot that would average out to what my PPO co pay would be. But since I have to pay more this year to keep the same insurance coverage why not use it? I go to the appt. the dr. is great, he orders the shot and to our amazement we are told that the office will not provide me the shot unless I pay an additional $50. Ok. So I ask why when my coverage says that I am 100% covered. I am already paying a premium. I even verify with my insurance co. they say I am covered. Then I am told that the office does not get 100% reimbursed for the shot so they charge $50 for it. If I want to pay it and get the refund from the insurance co. I can do this. WTF am I paying for? I pay a co-pay to come to this office and they want to extort additional cash for something that is already covered. I can afford it, but what about the other people that can't? It is the principal. Why would I pay $50 on top of $30 co-pay to get something on the corner for $25! My advice? Ask for what they (Pacific Oaks Medical Group) charge on top of your full coverage insurance. If you don't have full coverage insurance go somewhere else you will not be able to afford the parking and the visit at the same time.
