What People Are Saying About The Joint
Featured Review

The Scene – Tucked away in the otherwise quiet Beverly Hills-adjacent neighborhood, the Joint is anonymous from the outside, cloaked in black paint and masked by a dark canopy. Fairly tiny by L.A. club standards, its square footage shortcomings are redeemed by large hanging mirrors, which provide the red room with an illusion of size and aesthetic appeal. Bench seating and adjoining tables dot one wall, while a long bar lines the other. The stage itself is brilliant to behold--elevated four feet and flanked by golden elephant tusks--and the sight lines are good from anywhere in the room.…

Don't get too comfortable-you may have to move
by KCEE
I carefully planned a trip to The Joint to watch a fellow vocalist perform. I put on a nice outfit, and brought my camera. I was excited to learn that LA had a Reggae spot, and couldn't wait! When I arrived, the place was sparesly filled, and few were eating. The band that was supposed to play at 7:30 was just setting up at 9:30. I found a comfortable location to sit, and decided to relax for a while. No one took my order at the booth or said anything to me- maybe they can't afford servers. Okay so maybe this is like a college spot where you get up and walk to place a food and drink order? No problem. At 10:00 an unattractive, heavy-set AA woman walked in with someone who looked like the owner. She looked around the room, saw me at my table (looking fabulous!) pointed and said, "I want her table". Then she walked over to her ugly girlfriends, and waited. 5 minutes later the bouncer told me my table was reserved, and I had to move. I said, "Now you know that isn't right. She just asked for this table." He apologized and walked away. I walked right behind him - OUT OF THE DOOR!
If they knew I was a blogger and Artist, maybe they wouldn't have been so hasty to tell me to move. Or maybe if I wasn't so hot, she would have picked another table. Either way, I will not be back to The Joint, as I totally understand why no one was there: see reviews below - unprofessional service, bad food, crooked owner and the bands don't start on time.
Don't get the Booth if you want a good time!
by Valencialaser
Everything about going to The Joint was a nightmare! My group reserved a booth which they stipulate that you must purchase food or drinks totally $250 for a booth. There was & in our group and we can drink so never thought this would be a problem. Our server was also the bartender she rarely came to take our order without us walking over to the bar to let her know our group wanted to order drinks.I ordered my first drink of the night along with everyone else at our booth, a Ma thai and the bartender didn't write any of the drink orders down so when she returned with the drinks-she omitted mine. It took her 45 minutes to finally bring my drink after going to the bar 3 times to remind he rand it tasted horrible. I asked the bartender/server what she put in it and she said she didn't know what goes in a ma-thai and she had no pineapple juice. I ask you, "What kind of Jamacian/Carribean restaurant bar doesn't have pineapple juice? for that matter, and a speciality rum punch drink?" I When it came time to order food the cook came out to alert us that the Jerk chicken required "Preparation" and long time for cooking taking up to 25 minutes. Several times the cook came out to apology for the long wait. I felt like he should stop making excuses and go back into the kitchen and cook the food already. No ones order was what they wanted. The coconut rice tasted like it had Lentils in it. The Jerk chicken tasted like deep fried chicken wing drumettes with bland chicken broth. One of the vegetable side dishes tasted like chow mein. Someone in the group asked for another order of Fried Plantains and the cook said he wouldn't make anymore.
Oh, then the music acoustic was horrible! I left early @ 11:30pm, considering the featured band didn't start until 11:15pm. And yes I paid to see the band $15.00 per person. RIP OFF and horrible waste of money!
Never Again!!!!!

I personally had a horrible experience at the Joint, and I would never ever suggest this place to anyone for food. I was interested to check it out since I live in the neighborhood but My dinner took almost 40 minutes and the place had one customer so there was no excuse.. and it taste nothing .. I mean nothing.... like real Carribean food. I called to try and change my order to something else and at least give them feed back since they are fairly new, and I feel like Management could care less about my experience and kind of rude. I would not ever spend my money there again on food, maybe for a 3 buck Rum on the way out to somewhere else but that's about it.... The sound was great in the facility, However it was kind of annoying to hear some geeky looking dudes trying to sing roots music, it was actually funny but I appreciate the effort.

Me and some friends used to go to this place when we were up for anything... because the music here was always hit or miss. Surprisingly they've seriously cleaned their act up and made some major renovations -- best part is they didn't lose the quality sound. I'll be attending more often.
I was impressed!

I walked by The joint and noticed that a few changes have been made sense the last time I was there. It is now a full on reggae club/ Caribbean style Restaurant. I decided to go in and try the dinner menu. Great FOOD and a fun atmosphere. I decided to stay to watch the live music and was surprised by the professional quality sound system and great bands. I will be back!!
