Yes, the Dresden Restaurant is famous for movies like Swingers, That Thing You Do with Tom Hanks and a host of others that have chosen it for location shoots. It's been around since 1964 and still carries itself with that air of the 60s. At the bar, blue glasses are seen before patrons as they sip the house classic Blood and Sand--a space age margarita--and of course the ubiquitous martinis and Manhattans. Glasses of wine are popular, but the best choice is a bottle from the Dresden's 33-bin wine list. There is only standing room late at night, but there's never with a cover charge. It is…

Built in 1964, this Los Feliz institution was going strong long before it was immortalized in "Swingers" and gave Vince Vaughn a career. The grand dining room is a kitschy wonder of high ceilings, white booths, bright-orange accents, faux Asian screens and an Italian-leaning steakhouse menu. But through the arched walls is where the real action is: Walls made of rock, gold metal-encased pendant lamps and sienna leather booths set the scene for Marty and Elayne, the black-clad duo who've effectively owned this room since 1982. Taking on everything from Captain and Tennille to the Bee Gees, the…

Terrible service

by Annouchka at Citysearch

I went there with my husband on our first date after our baby was born. The food was terrible and the waitress was rude. She brought me the wrong order and told me right in my face that it was my fault. I will not got back.

Loud

by notalentassclown at Citysearch

I arrived before the lounge act started and was able to enjoy conversation and my glass of house wine. Once the act started, it was so loud, we had to leave the room. The musicians seemed fine, they played well, but they were so loud that it was painful to listen to and you could not hear what the person next to you was saying. The decor was fun, I just wish the music was not so loud, I would have enjoyed myself much more. Some of my friends ate there and did enjoy the food. For the most part the staff was nice.

It is the Hollywood place to be and be seen. It's not a super expensive place like Perino's or Chasen's were, but more like the famous Brown Derby. First rate, yet affordable for the average person.
