Editorial Review for Sonny McLeans – by Chantal Lamers
The Scene
Black-and-white photographs of old Ireland hang next to vintage beer and cigarette ads at this Irish pub, where bartenders have been known to pour a thick pint of Guinness with a clover imprinted into the top of the beer's thick head. A portion of this generous-sized bar is reserved for dart players and pool sharks, while air-hockey players stick to the back room. Arrive early to reserve "The Office," furnished with two couches and a coffee table; it's the perfect place to kick back and enjoy a view of the hardy drinkers at the tables and booths in the bar area. As the night creeps on, check out the clocks that tell the time in Boston, Dublin, Sydney and Santa Monica--because it's always drinking time somewhere.
The Draw
This pub attracts an assortment of people--from bikers to sorority sisters.

Those of you from Boston living out here, this place is a must go-to! From the Boston sports teams paraphernalia on the walls, this cozy pub is the perfect place to have a Guinness and trash talk the Yankees! The pub often has karaoke too, which just takes it to that next level of awesomeness.

How can you go wrong with a Boston sports bar, smack-dab in the middle of Wilshire with not one, but TWO nights devoted to karaoke? Sonny's is a north-easterner's haven for beer, greasy apps and a good time. Chances are you will run into someone you know or someone who knows someone you know, which is why it's a lot like "Cheers" the TV show, not the real one underneath the Hampshire House, off Beacon in Beantown. Prices are extremely reasonable, karaoke on Wednesdays and Sundays- after whatever Boston game has been played. Walls have Boston sports memorabilia and they also have the honor of being the only place west of the Mississippi where the World Series trophy was displayed! Bronson Arroyo and Damon the Defector were known to do karaoke back in their day ... so, you never know who just might show up! Yankee Fans-- you stay away, ya hear?
Pros: Watch BoSox, Pats and Celts games with your East Coast neighbors; the beer and the attitude!
Cons: Can't think of one...
