Editorial Review for Kerry Park – by Carmel Post
The Experience
Kerry Park is a small grassy plot of land, about 80 yards long and 30 yards wide, nestled high on the south slope of Queen Anne Hill. It's primary draw is the view it affords. The Space Needle and the Experience Music Project lie at your feet; farther south is downtown. Mount Rainier looms in the background. To the north are the Victorian mansions of one of Seattle's most established and well-to-do neighborhoods. The park is a great place for newcomers because it offers such excellent geographic orientation. You'll see plenty of tourists here taking pictures, but you'll also eye more than a few starry-eyed locals--many a romantic kiss has been given here, and it's a popular site for weddings.
The Background
Seattleites bid many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry Sr.--they donated the park to the city in 1927.

Insider Tips
Know Before You GoThis little park isn't clearly marked. When you see the square black metal sculpture with four oval "windows," you're there.
The ExtrasStand in the metal sculpture titled "Changing Form" for a clever portrait of you and the city. Also, down the stairs is a play area complete with jungle gym, where a slide leads down to another grassy area on Prospect Street.

I'll never forget this park. The love of my life guided me here (I was driving his truck and I didn't live in Seattle) and we watch this great view... AS HE BROKE UP WITH ME! The view eased the pain a little and the walk down to the fence provided a cool breeze that chilled my tears a little. Its a great breakup point as well as romantic spot.
Pros: good parking, GREAT view
Cons: sad memories, windy
