Conveniently attached to Canter's, the Kibitz Room is the perfect place to drink before or after you chow down. The music has expanded to include pop hits from subsequent decades. If you get there early enough, Eric the bartender will treat you to pictures of his son, but otherwise you might have to wait to get his attention. Bands hoping to follow in the footsteps of past Kibitz Room performers like the Wallflowers play on most nights. – –

I'm biased because I'm part of The F.O.C.K.R.s (Friends of Canter's Kibitz Room) but Tuesdays are a blast here.
We want everyone to know that we're back (started in '92).
We play every Tuesday at 10 and it's always FREE.
We have some of the best players in L.A. in the core band and as it is a controlled but accepting jam we invite and encourage talented guest performers to sit in with us.
You never know who may turn up and reward you with a great time and stories to take home with you.

Really great place for great music

Just got back from the Kibitz room and I have to say it was a great time. The drinks were cheap, people where very friendly and I saw one of the most amazing bands ever. They were called Bronson. Amazing show!

Scary night out!

Girls puking in the bathroom, a bartender overserving a drunk jerk who seemed to be itching for a fight, same bartender had a laissez faire attitude to the point where a female patron was phycially threatened by the drunk guy; and when it got to the seriously scary point and one of us had to call for help before someone got hurt, the bartender publically berated us and kicked US out!!! all because we did what all patrons that night felt was right and called the police. Sad because it's a great concept and showcase for up and coming artists. I have no problems with the Deli side. But stay away from the Kibitz Room! You've been warned. There was a late night tv show producer at the bar that night who witnessed how abusive the bartender was. I hope the owners turn this around.

Parking:
Get validation and you can park in the Canter's lot for an hour and a half. After that, it's $1 per hour.
What to Eat:
Need some matzo ball soup to go with that beer? You can order food off the Canter's menu while chilling at the bar.
What to Drink:
The drinks here are rumored to be among the stiffest in town, so consider having one less than usual.
