The Scene
Crowded and energetic. Audience members frequently show their support not only by clapping, but also by waving their napkins in the air. A few of the spiritually moved may even jump to their feet in song, with hands outspread and bodies swaying to the music. The club brings in different Chicago-area church choirs (and sometimes those from surrounding states), with a minimum of 15 vocalists and three musicians. Sometimes the restaurant becomes the House of Blues Baptist Church, or the House of Blues Protestant or Catholic Church. It all depends on which choir performs that day.
The Brunch
Food is offered in the main stage area every Sunday at 9:30am, 12pm and 2:30pm. The price includes an all-you-can-eat buffet, featuring omelets cooked to order, fresh shrimp and fish, Cajun potatoes, about 20 other delicious items--and a full hour of authentic Chicago gospel music.
