liked pork ribs, great food, delectable sauce, best plate, good meal recommendation, good meal, dry corn bread
Great barbeque and fast delivery - good change from the normal delivery foods..
I was looking for something different than my normal Thai delivery. Stumbling to this listing; I did not have a menu. I called and asked for a good meal recommendation for someones first time at the restaurant. Very understanding the person helped me decide and through her recommendations, I chose the pork ribs with collard greens. Fifteen minutes later, I was digging in and creating a huge mess with the delectable sauce covered meaty ribs.
I am a discerning customer from Virginia and have a long history with barbecue and traditional southern foods. I will order from here in the future, especially for my friends and family from out-of-town.
BEST BBQ ON THE WEST SIDE, BAR NONE. Benny's Bar-B-Q puts Baby Blues to shame. Their home made hot links are to die for and their sides are incredible. It may be small but it packs a lot of BBQ wallop in every plate served. Go for the pork spare ribs and you'll be in hog heaven. Mr Cecil's rules the westside in beef ribs & Benny's dominates on pork ribs. Enough said.
Great BBQ. I have been there three times now and the best plate is the long pork ribs, hands down. If you want beef ribs go to Mr Cecils in sherman oaks (havnt been to the one on pico yet) but if you want pork ribs this place has the best in the greater LA area. They are HUGE ribs and have so much meat with amazing flavor in the BBQ sauce. Deffinately reccomended!
average bbq. i recently ordered take-out from benny's bar-b-q and although it wasn't the best, it was decent. i liked the pork ribs better than the beef. i ordered the lunch special #1 and the portions are generous but the corn bread was a little dry and the potato salad was a bit bland. the service was cheerful and pleasant.
Tiny soul-food shack dishes out smoky ribs, chicken and hot links..
In Short
Only eight diners can fit under this takeout stand-sized restaurant's large red awning--two more tables' worth of patrons sit along the sidewalk. Meat, chicken and almost everything on the menu is smoked in a brick pit. Thick barbecue sauce--tangy and homemade--douses all dishes, from beef brisket to chunky chicken sandwiches. Authentic Southern-style sides include creamy coleslaw and spicy collard greens. Dessert favorites are peach cobbler and sweet potato pie.
Best BBQ in the Marina. A small hole-in-the wall with great food. Just down the street from where we live, our family drops in once every few months for some good eatin'. The place is not much to look at but the food is tasty and the portions are are more than fair. Great place for a good meal, and if a view is a must, take it to go and drive a few blocks to Venice Beach.
