The Scene
The shelves in this Beverly Hills butcher shop are stocked with fine gourmet foods, but it's the meat counter that steals the show, and the stars are fabulous fresh and smoked sausages made on the premises. The South African meat specialties can't be found anywhere else in L.A. The clientele--young, old, new World, Old World--is fiercely loyal.
The Goods
The shop offers over 20 varieties of sausage including lamb, chicken cilantro, turkey bratwurst, hot Italian and elegant veal weisswurst ("white sausage") are only a few. All are made fresh daily, with no preservatives or fillers. In addition to the sausage, the meat counter features milk-fed Illinois veal, New Zealand lamb, fresh goose or duck, pancetta and proscuitto. The unusual South African specialties include Biltong (a kind of cured, peppery jerky, made from beef, ostrich or turkey), Droewors (an intense, dried beef sausage) and Boerewors (a delectable fresh beef sausage).

HI EUROPEAN SAUSAGE LOVERS I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE SINCE 1962 AND HAVE KNOWN ALL THE OWNERS PERSONALLY , THERE HAVE BEEN 3 TOTAL. I AM HALF POLISH AND HALF SWEDISH AND AM A DELI NUT, THIS SMALL PLACE HAS BEEN THERE SEEMINGLY FOREVER AND IS A GEM FOR ALL TYPES OF SAUSAGE, SALAMI, BOLOGNI, CHEESES , MEATS, AND DELI DELITES. TRY THE BEEF STICK SOME TIME IT IS ADDICTING BELIEVE ME. I HAVE EATEN SAUSAGES AND THE LIKE ALL OVER THE WORLD AND THIS SHOP RIVALS THE BEST I HAVE SEEN AND BEEN TO...GIVE IT A TRY SOME TIME , YOU WILL THANK ME.
Pros: THE BEST IN CALIFORNIA!!

this is the place to go to if you want something you can't get at wholefoods or any other normal store in the meat department...they also have a couple of essential european products in their small shelved area. as well you get the sweet mustard for your weisswuerste...and you can go to rockenwagner's bakery for the pretzel! ilovethisplace!
