A beautiful workout with great city views
by wankervon
The observatory hike can start from either the Ferndell section of the park or from a trail next to the Greek Theatre. Both trails offer spectacular views that change throughout the year. This hike can be done by most anyone and offers a unique look at the city. I highly recommend it.
- Pros: beautiful hike, great workout in less than an hour, spectacular views of the city and mountains
- Cons: trail is dusty, sometimes overcrowded, occasional rattlesnakes
1 of the BEST views of LA

This place was once known as one of the top 10 make-out spots here in LA. I've been twice and I totally loved it. The view up top is the best! I as well have heard many stabbing and shooting stories about Griffith Park (where you pass through to get to the top of the Observatory) Too bad it will be closed for a couple of years.
- Pros: GREAT view
- Cons: steepy roads, dirt road
