Gourmet burger heaven!. I love Father's Office's burger. And you better love everything they put on it because there's no substitutions. It's a heart-unhealthy mix of specially ground beef (secret blend!), blue cheese, bacon and onions. Sooo good! The sweet potato fries are amazing as well, and come in a cute little shopping cart. There's always a crowd, so get there early. At least you don't have to be a table vulcher anymore. The downside is that you have to wait in line to get in, so you can't have one of their great beers or a glass of wine while you are waiting (wine list isn't bad, not a full bar). You order at the bar and they bring the food to you.

No service. There is no table service. You have to go to the bar to order, hoping no one grabs your seat while you're trying to wriggle through the drinkers 3-deep around where you have to go to order.

You've heard of Sushi N*zis? This guy's a burger N*zi! You vill take it his way or you won't get it. With a bouncer out front yet?

I get a better burger at Louise, an italian restaurant, a few doors makai, and infinitely better service.

It's only a block from my home, but I'll never go back.

Best Beer and Burger Combo In the City. 5 of us had five different beers and each of us had the same burger. 5 for 5 on both so I give this place 20 stars.

the beer selection is astounding, even for a beer nut like me. great place to watch the lakers.

cheers

Awesome beer + burger. I love Father's Office. I love this particular FO even. The beer selection is great, the burger is AWESOME (granted, you cannot substitute anything in it) and the fries are great (ketchup lovers beware - they don't offer it).

The only issue is trying to get a table. It's neigh impossible if you get there around 6-7. I've once stood in line to get in as it opens and the place was full within 30 mins.

This space issue is the reason why I never go here anymore but instead go to the FO in CC.

great beer - good food - crowded. This super popular santa monica bar has a fantastic beer selection (esp. Belgian and hard-to-find California brews). The food is pretty good too. The only drawback is that its usually very crowded - go early in the afternoon if you want to get a table.

For Burgers and Beer. Voted a few times to have the best burgers in Los Angeles, Father's Office definitely knows how to tantalize the taste buds with their one of a kind non-editable burgers. That means no changes! You get the burger as is no adjustments are catered to. You can order sweet potato fries or garlic parsley fries to accompany your burger, but beware if you're a Ketchup lover as they don't serve any! The fries come with a yummy garlic dipping sauce. Best is to enjoy the beach in the morning, don't eat all day, and then have a few beers and a burger in the late afternoon while watching the locals stroll in. I must admit the last few times I've been the burgers were a little slapped together and not as good as a few months ago. Don't let that deter you however... still a must try.

Amazing Food Terrible Wait. The food is spectacular hence the wait, but it is almost impossible to get in 30 minutes past opening and it stays that way until it closes. You order at the bar and when you tell them what you want on your burger they get irritated because they serve it one way. Now, as soon as you taste it you realize that they have a right to be annoyed. It's the most unique tasting thing you've ever had. Mix in an amazing offering of draft beers from all over the world and you have a memorable lunch or casual dinner. Great place to take out of towners to show off our bar and hamburger cuisine.

By Far the Best Burger. To anyone who disagrees that Father's Office is undeniably one of the best burgers anywhere - they don't have a clue what a burger is. Now granted, there are no substitutions or special requests and that for some diners can be a little challenging, but who needs to screw with perfection. The have a very good selection of beer and wine, although i rarely drink. I typically just have a Bubble Up soda in a glass bottle- totally classic! The greatest challenge is finding a place to sit - Also, they aren't really big on amazing guest service. In fact, the staff tends to have a little attitude that you are fortunate to be served by them. Despite the challenges - i would highly recommend this place to any true burger aficionado.

Best place in greater L.A.. To the dude who believes Carl's Jr. is better than Father's Office: good, go to Carl's. I don't want to run into you here. Father's Office can tout the best burger in L.A. because they use aged beef, arugula (NOT spinach - get your veggies straight!), an awesome carmelized sauce and incredible sides like skinny fries with garlic aioli (keep your ketchup for your fast food hockey puck). All of their food is excellent. Excellent beer collection for the connoisseur, and also FOOD for the connoisseur. Fast food addicts please go elsewhere and don't add to the crowd here.

It's okay.... It's all been said here: the beer selection rewards more sophisticated swillers and the burgers (in the one variety they offer) are terrific. Bar staff can be inattentive or just straight up rude (the last time we were there the only person taking orders was having difficulty juggling her job with an apparently vigorous text message debate). It's also often noisy and you need to arrive close to opening hours (or before) to get a table... this has improved somewhat since the Fire Department cracked down on them for overcrowding violations: now you wait outside to order instead of inside for a place to eat it.

I'd be happy to never go there again except there aren't that many bars that serve this kind of quality beers... for now it is good enough.
