What People Are Saying About Cafe Telesai

Featured Review

In Short – This fun and casual, yet elegant joint in Beverly Hills mixes Thai sculpture with funky art. Blond wood, glass walls, warm lighting and upbeat music add to the comfy feel. Entrees include crispy crab wontons and a green papaya salad shot through with a lime-chili kick. For mains, pick from beef stir fried with red chili and lime, a jungle curry infused with coconut, or the very popular broiled eel with fried basil leaves. –

Editor's Tips

Look Good:
Not yet on the menu, ask for the Thai ice tea ice cream. The Thai sweet rice with fresh mango is also tasty.
Parking:
Park in the lot facing Olympic.
The Extras:
Check out their sister restaurant Talesai, located at 9043 Sunset Boulevard West Hollywood, California.

  1. With poor service, my wife and I spent over $100 on two vegetarian appetizers, two vegetarian entrees and two beers and we left hungry.
  2. However, it seems that if you are not all dressed up and looking to spend big bucks on wine and multiple courses, the staff is not so interested in talking to you.

Best Thai food!

by lalover24

We have tried our share of thai restaurants, but once we tried cafe Talesai, we stopped going anywhere else. Dine in, take out, or delivery, you name it the food is amazing! We are addicted to the lettuce wraps, jungle curry, and pad see ew- mmmmmmmmmmm. I can't wait to go back, in fact, I think we will order in tonight!

  • Pros: Wonderful food, great service, ample parking
  • Cons: NONE!

probably the best Thai Ive had this side of the pacific

by hemmings_d

Probably the best Thai I've had this side of the pacific. I fancy myself a foodie of sorts (I've actually been to Thailand several times) and I can honestly say, this is the real deal. My faves were the jungle curry, hidden treasures and the crispy sea bass. The people here are really nice and the atmosphere is pretty good for dates.

  • Pros: authentic thai, fresh ingredients, cool staff
  • Cons: there should be one in santa monica

Wow I tried this place & let me tell you it was a treat to my palate. Try their hidden treasures dish, it is delish. As for the jungle curry Mmmmmmmm I could be addicted (good thing they deliver too). I would be happy to be brought on a date here which says a lot because I am picky!!. The decor is minimalistic and clean & the service friendly and genuine.Overall I highly recommend checking this place out.

Somebody Beat Me To It

by worstelf

I logged on to write about how absurdly overpriced this restaurant is, and how small the portions are. I ordered a curry dish that was about $15 and they charged me an extra $1 for rice. Give me a break. Save your money and your time. I give it an F. I can't think of a thing that it did well. There are ten superior restaurants within a square mile of this place. Just go to Beverly Drive.

Great Food...tiny portions....horribly overpriced

by redsoxdiehard

With poor service, my wife and I spent over $100 on two vegetarian appetizers, two vegetarian entrees and two beers and we left hungry. The food and quality of the ingredients are definitely on the high end, as are the prices for what you get. The food is standard Thai fare on an oversized, stylish plate but our portions were half of what you'd get at a typical Thai restaurant. The servers brought our apps and entrees at the same time then rushed us out of the restaurant as it was slow and they wanted to close early. Overall it's ordinary Thai food that caters to Yuppie pretention.

  • Pros: Great Food, Quality Ingredients, Good Wine/Beer list
  • Cons: Terrible Prices, Tiny Portions, Lackluster Service
