Awesome Place for Happy Hour.. I love this go every other weekend if not every weekend.
Great place for happy hour. The "troc" as I call it is a great place for happy hour at the end of a work day or b4 you start your night. Sascha one the bartender makes the best drinks and great convo. The food is far better than expected due to the size of the place...I recommend flank steak, medium rare..with mash and esparagus!
Great Food and Service!!. I went in there last minute with some friends celebrating my friend who was about to get married. Supposed to go somewhere else on the Sunset Strip, but no one informed us that you can't get in anywhere if you don't have an even ratio of girls with you! Anyway, we were walking by and the waitress was standing outside and brought us in and guaranteed us good food and drinks!! She was right, and we ended up having a great time and were happy this was the place we ended up. Great food and drinks, good crowd and music, and the waitress Pam couldn't have made it a better night. Thanks Trocadero!
Best bar ever!!. Patio seating where you can smoke, Filet dinner for $16 that is the best filet in LA and Raja the bartender who is amazing and plays the best music on the Sunset Strip. Probably the best bar/restaurant on Sunset. If you're lucky enought to get Jenny or Michelle as your waitress it should be a perfect night.
EXCELLENT food, great drinks..... The Sunset Trocadero has definitely got to be a place I would mark as "one hell of a good time". They have the absolute best filet tips, and calamari in all of Los Angeles. I like the location, centrally set on Sunset Blvd, giving everyone a good time to "bar hop". Although I prefer to remain seated, this little venue has been known to get unbelievably packed, and definitely a location everyone returns to after hopping to other close by bars.
Go See Jenny (with the Brown Hair, Red Lips, and Foxy Demeanor).
We go here for one reason: Jenny. Jenny is the regular cocktailer and gives this place character and is so NOT LA, meaning no headshots or audition ambitions.
We like the tables on the patio - me because I can stare at people walking by and wonder what other 818/714 bar they are going to...my friends because they can smoke without leaving the table, an LA rarity.
Never eaten here, you can peek through this little octagonal hole in the wall in to the kitchen and it looks kind of scary....but it shouldnt be your first stop for dinner. There are better places in the neighborhood. No bridge and tunnel crowd in here, just people in the know. You can make it your first or last stop of the night....and lately (Spring 2007) they have been cranking up the music in to the foreground after 11PM so people even rock it out on weekends sometimes.
Took me 9 years living in LA to appreciate this place. When you want to meet someone for a drink, this is like Jones, a good place to do it.
Perfect bar to chill on Sunset. Some friends and I stopped at the Trocadero for a drink before heading out to dinner and were glad that we did. Drink prices were pretty reasonable and we ordered the marinated steak tips appetizer. While we didn't stay for a full dinner, the atmosphere was very low key with some good afrobeat music playing, the servers and bartender were attentive and the food was good. Highly recommended.
Low Key On Sunset? That's Right.
To sum the place up: a nice neighborhood bar with good music, reasonable drinks, and decent food. All of this in the middle of Sunset without lines, hassles, or begging. The place attracts a cool crowd from aspiring actresses/ models to bankers.. Overall a nice default place to go with friends to have a drink.
Definitely a nice way to enjoy the Strip without getting caught up in the typcial two hour line with a useless bouncer.
Sunset Strip hot spot with un-pretentious peeps and low-key bouncers..
In Short
Located a few blocks from its legendary Hollywood namesake, this new version is small and cozy. You can kick it on comfy couches in the dimly lit indoor area or people-watch on the outdoor patio overlooking Sunset Boulevard. But wherever you sit there'll be plenty of small talk, flirtatious glances, head bobbing and high-end cocktails. The music varies from downtempo house to banging hip-hop and eclectic jazz.
pretty good martinis. This place has a good vibe and good drinks (not the best, but not the most expensive either). The atmosphere is small and personable. Worth trying out.
