Cool Atmosphere, Good Food. I went here for the first time last week and loved it. It is in a cool and trendy sort of neighborhood, which is perfect. The food is really good too! The artichoke garlic dipping sauce is solid.

Great Bar in a nifty neighborhood. I come to Bird's to drink more often than to eat, but I can attest the chicken wraps are delicious.

The one thing that always strikes me about this bar is that there is no jukebox, no visible way for the bartenders to control the music, and I have NEVER heard a bad song in this place. Whoever runs the music is a genius or reading my mind or something. The music feeds the atmosphere, the atmosphere influences the people, and the people make the bar. I prefer it during happy hour when things are a little cheaper and a little more subdued, but Bird's is always a great outing.

Awesome Place. SUCH a fun place to have dinner. I absolutely love the food, and I've never had to wait too long for a table (10-15 at most).

Every waiter/waitress I've come in contact with has been nothing but friendly and sociable. If you're looking for a quiet dinner, I do not recommend Birds. The music is always gong and everyone tends to sing along (which is always a lot of fun but it really depends on your preference for atmosphere.)

Because Birds is surrounded by other restaurants, parking can be a nightmare. I definitely recommend going for valet ( only $6).

DO NOT GO HERE. I used to go to BIRDS for many years. My friends gave me crap about it, saying the food was terrible, the staff had attitude... but being a former server, I can understand the thrills of dealing with drunks and crazy customers and hey, it's in a cute area, the drinks are cheap.... but seriously, the past 3 times I went to this place, you could NOT PAY ME TO GO HERE AGAIN.

The manager is some crazy 80 year old woman who I think has prescription med problems. My friend was having her second drink at the bar when the manager OUT OF NOWHERE came over to my friend and accused her of stealing from the register and that she was going to call the cops. I sat there, my jaw on the floor. Needless to say, my friend defended herself, called the woman INSANE and we payed for our drinks and started to leave. (This is 4pm on a Thursday mind you. Calm afternoon, nothing crazy happening. My friend had been at the bar the entire time). We had been at Birds 4 months ago, and the staff was extremely rude to us then, so we had not been back for a while.

She defended herself and I calmly told her "You know what? This is the second time we've had a bad experience here. Let's go." A waitress nearby said "Well if you don't like it, don't come here anymore."

I'm a relaxed person, I am polite, I am usually on the server's side in these scenarios. But this was ridiculous. I have never been in a fight in my life and this waitress clearly wanted to start something. I could not believe this behavior. I'm convinced the staff is coked out.

There are many other cute places in the area. Go to the pizza place or La Poubelle. This is THE WORST restaurant in Los Angeles and there are other businesses you can spend your hard earned money at and you won't be treated like an inmate.

don't get delivery. we waited for over an hour and when we called about our order, she said they don't do anything about that and other people are usually cool with it.

Scary Place. This place is scary and violent. There are always problems here, and everyone seems to want to fight - too much drinking and nothing else. The food is sub par.

blah. It's the same old tired crowd every night. All the regulars who live in the area go there 4-5 nights a week. Most probably because it's a short stumble back home at the end of the night. I can't think of any other reason one would want to go there. It's pretty much a sausage fest aside from a few girls that frequent the place, but they aren't much to look at and have made their rounds in that place. Good for lunch, not for night life.

Best Neighborhood place. LOVE this place. Have been going for years and it never disappoints. Great food, nice crowd, good strong drinks. It's a neighborhood bar, perfect for a Saturday or Sunday brunch with cocktails in the sun.

Vodka Watered Down. First time I've been to birds in a long time... The food was great... a combination of koo koo roo and bar food.

My problem... I am an avid vodka drinker (well that's not really a problem). I drink it straight, on the rocks, with a lemon... Stoli by choice.

I ordered this very drink at Birds. It showed up in a small tumbler, but tasted chilled instead of straight. They insisted it was clean... I shut my mouth because the people at my table were giving me a hard time about it.

After dinner, we ordered another round. The waiter actually said he watched the bartender pour the drink. Again, it tasted chilled. I thought my taste buds were off that night.

Later, I went to 40 Duece... I ordered the same drink, and WHOA! THAT"S what vodka is SUPPOSED to taste like. A little kick to it!!! I knew I wasn't crazy. And mind you, this is already two drinks in, and as any mature drinker knows, the longer you drink, the weaker the drinks taste.

Maybe it was a bad batch, I usually try to give the benefit of the doubt.. but in the 15 years I've been drinking Stoli, it's never tasted like that right out of the bottle.

So go draw your own conclusions... Try it for yourself... Vodka drinkers UNITE! But I'll never go back there again for my drink of choice.

And to the dinner party I ate with that night... THANKS! ...for turning me into a pansy, forcing me to put up with less than 100% STOLI! And then getting mad when I didn't want to tip 20%.
